2010–11 Olympique Lyonnais Season
The 2010–11 season is French football club Olympique Lyonnais's 52nd season in Ligue 1 and their 22nd consecutive season in the top division of French football. The season is the club's second straight season overall where it has not won any silverware. Due to the club's second-place finish the previous season, Lyon will compete in the UEFA Champions League for the 11th-straight season. News On 8 June 2010, Lyon reached a three-year agreement on a partnership with Groupama, an international insurance company based in Paris. The deal is valued at €4.5 million a year. The company's logo will be displayed on the back of the player's shirts. 2009–10 Ligue 1
The 2009–10 Ligue 1 season was the 72nd since its establishment. Bordeaux were the defending champions. The fixtures were announced on 5 June 2009, and play commenced on 8 August and ended on 15 May 2010. There were three promoted teams from Ligue 2, replacing the three teams that were relegated from Ligue 1 following the 2008–09 season. A total of 20 teams competed in the league with three clubs suffering relegation to the second division, Ligue 2. All clubs that secured Ligue 1 status for this season were subject to approval by the DNCG before becoming eligible to participate.The DNGC is responsible for overseeing the legal and financial accounts of professional and amateur football clubs in France. Cris (footballer, Born 1977)
Cristiano Marques Gomes (born 3 June 1977), or simply Cris, is a Brazilian football manager and a former player who is the manager of Championnat National club Le Mans FC. Previously he was manager of GOAL FC, and spent three years as manager of the under-19 squad of Lyon. A former centre-back, Cris is also nicknamed "the policeman" by way of reference to his authoritarian nature on the pitch and his four months of experience in a police department in Guarulhos. Sidney Rodrigue Noukpo Govou (born 27 July 1979) is a French former professional footballer who played primarily as a winger, but was occasionally deployed as a striker. Jimmy Julien Briand (born 2 August 1985) is a French professional footballer. He started his career as a striker, but is now usually deployed on the wing. Briand is a graduate of Clairefontaine academy and was a France youth international. Laurent Blanc
Laurent Robert Blanc (born 19 November 1965) is a French professional football manager and former player who played as a centre-back, and is currently the manager of Ligue 1 club Lyon.
