The 2010–11 Meistriliiga season was the 21st season of the Meistriliiga, the top level of ice hockey in Estonia. Three teams participated in the league, and Tartu Välk 494 won the championship. Meistriliiga (ice Hockey)
The Meistriliiga (EML), also known as the Unibet Hokiliiga for sponsorship reasons, is the top-tier ice hockey league in Estonia. The league consists of six teams. There are 28 referees in the country who officiate at Estonian championship games in all age classes. The work of hockey referees is organized by the ref in chief of Estonian hockey referees Maksim Toode. The Estonian champion has the right to represent the country at the IIHF Continental Cup, Continental Cup of Hockey. History The league was formed in the 1990-91 season. Since 1945–46, Estonian teams had participated in the Estonian SSR Championship. Prior to the country's Occupation of the Baltic states, annexation and incorporation into the Soviet Union, the Estonian Championship had been contested in interwar Estonia from 1934 to 1940. Tartu Kalev-Välk
Tartu Välk 494 is a professional ice hockey team located in Tartu, Estonia, and playing in the Coolbet Hokiliiga, the top tier of ice hockey in Estonia. They play home games at the Lõunakeskus Ice Hall. History Tartu Välk 494 was founded in April 1994, and the team won their first Meistriliiga Championship in 1997. Since then, team have gone on to win the league a further 14 times, with the most recent victory coming in 2025. In addition, they have twice won the now-defunct Estonian Cup, in 1997 and 1998. Meistriliiga (), officially known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons, and commonly known as the Premium Liiga, is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter, the season starts in March and ends in November.
