2010–11 Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Fred Hoiberg, who was in his 1st season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa and competed in the Big 12 Conference. Previous season The Cyclones finished 15–17, and 4–12 in Big 12 play to finish tied for 9th in the regular season conference standings. They lost to Texas in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. On April 26, 2010, Greg McDermott announced he was resigning as head coach at Iowa State to take the same position at Creighton. Fred Hoiberg
Fredrick Kristian Hoiberg (born October 15, 1972) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He has served as the men's head basketball coach at the University of Nebraska since 2019. Hoiberg grew up in Ames, Iowa, and played college basketball at Iowa State University in Ames where he earned the nickname "the Mayor". He was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) where, over his 10-year career, he played for the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, and Minnesota Timberwolves. After retiring as a player, he served as vice president for basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves before beginning his coaching career at his alma mater, Iowa State University. The 2010 NBA draft was held on June 24, 2010, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The draft, which started at 7:00 pm Eastern Time Zone, Eastern Daylight Time (2300 Coordinated Universal Time, UTC), was broadcast in the United States on ESPN. Brewster Academy
Brewster Academy is a co-educational independent boarding school located on in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, United States. It occupies of shoreline along Lake Winnipesaukee. Melvin Obinna Ejim (born March 4, 1991) is a Nigerian-Canadian professional basketball player for Unicaja of the Liga ACB. He played college basketball for Iowa State University before playing professionally in Italy, Russia and Spain, as well as the NBA G League. Justin Anthony Hamilton (born April 1, 1990) is a Croatian-American professional basketball coach and former player who is a video coordinator and player development coach for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). LaRon Dendy (born December 18, 1988) is an American former basketball player. Dendy was an All-American college player at Middle Tennessee State University before beginning his professional career in 2012. Career Dendy, a power forward and center from Greenville, South Carolina, originally committed to Clemson. He instead went to Indian Hills Community College and played two years for the NJCAA school. He then went to Iowa State for the 2009–10 season, where he averaged 7.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in a reserve role. Following the season, Dendy announced plans to transfer.
