2010 European Athletics Championships
The 2010 European Athletics Championships were the 20th edition of the European Athletics Championships, organised under the supervision of the European Athletic Association. They were held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain from 27 July to 1 August 2010. Barcelona was the first Spanish city to host the European Championships. Barni was the mascot of the event, he was the main promotional tool of the Championship. His name comes from Barna and was designed by the workshop Dortoka. Maksim Sergeyevich Dyldin (; born 19 May 1987) is a Russian sprint athlete. He was part of the team that finished third in Men's 4 × 400 m relay at the 2008 Summer Olympics, but the team was disqualified after teammate Denis Alekseyev tested positive for doping. Catalin is a brand name for a thermosetting polymer developed and trademarked in 1927 by the American Catalin Corporation of New York City, when the patent on Bakelite expired that year. A phenol formaldehyde resin, it can be worked with files, grinders, and cutters, and polished to a fine sheen. Catalin is produced by a two-stage process, different from other types of phenolic resins, and does not contain fillers, such as sawdust or carbon black. Catalin is transparent, near colorless, rather than opaque. Unlike other phenolics, it can be produced in bright colors or even marbled. Andrea Barberi
Andrea Barberi (15 January 1979 – December 2023) was an Italian sprint athlete who specialized in the 400 metres. Biography Barberi finished fifth at the 2006 European Athletics Championships and at the 2007 European Athletics Indoor Championships. He also reached the semi-finals of the 2005 World Athletics Championships. At the 2006 IAAF World Cup, he finished fifth in 4 x 400 metres relay with the European team. On 27 August 2006 in Rieti, he ran in 45.19 seconds, breaking the Italian outdoor record which had stood since 1981. The Italian Athletics Federation announced Barberi's death on 20 December 2023. Jonathan Borlée (; born 22 February 1988) is a former Belgian sprinter, who specializes in the 400 metres. He is a member of the Borlée family. He qualified for the finals of the 400 metres at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was a semi-finalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics and winner at the 2009 NCAA Championships.
