2009–10 Vanderbilt Commodores Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represented Vanderbilt University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's college basketball season. The team competed in the East Division of the Southeastern Conference, as it has since the SEC expanded to 12 schools in 1991. The team was led by Kevin Stallings, in his tenth year as head coach, and played their home games at their home since 1952, Memorial Gymnasium on the school's campus in Nashville, Tennessee. They finished the season 24–9, 12–4 in SEC play. They lost in the semifinals of the 2010 SEC men's basketball tournament to Mississippi State. The Commodores received an at-large bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, earning a 4 seed in the west region, where they lost to 13 seed Murray State in the first round on a last second buzzer beater. Kevin Stallings
Kevin Eugene Stallings (born October 1, 1960) is an American former basketball coach, who formerly served as the head coach at Illinois State University, Vanderbilt University and the University of Pittsburgh. He was an assistant coach at Purdue University and the University of Kansas. Playing career Stallings was born in Collinsville, Illinois. He graduated from Collinsville High School in Collinsville, Illinois in 1978, where he played guard (6'5", 190 lbs.) for four years under legendary coach Vergil Fletcher and won three conference championships. The Kahoks went 30–1 his junior season and lost to De La Salle Institute, De La Salle in the first round of the Illinois state tournament, 67–66. In his senior season, the Kahoks finished 28–3 and finished third in the state tournament. Brad Tinsley
Bradley Glen Tinsley (born May 10, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores before playing professionally in Belgium, France, Australia, Germany, Portugal, Lithuania and Italy. High school career In 2008, Tinsley led the Pioneers to state runner-up as a senior. He averaged 25 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals during the season. Tinsley also won the Oregon Player of the Year as well as the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Oregon in his last season at Oregon City High School. John Jenkins (basketball)
John Logan Jenkins III (born March 6, 1991) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Criollos de Caguas of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). A shooting guard, Jenkins was a two-time TSSAA Class AA Mr. Basketball selection, and was the Gatorade Tennessee High School Player of the Year in 2008–09. He played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 23rd pick in the 2012 NBA draft. Andrew James "A.J." Ogilvy (born 17 June 1988) is an Australian-Irish former professional basketball player. He played three seasons of college basketball for Vanderbilt before playing in Europe for the first three years of his professional career.
