2009–10 Oakland Golden Grizzlies Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team were a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I college basketball team representing Oakland University. Oakland finished the season 26–9 overall, 17–1 in The Summit League and were the league's regular season and conference tournament champions. The Golden Grizzlies received The Summit League's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament and, as a No. 14 seed, lost to No. 3 Pittsburgh in the first round. Preseason Oakland was picked to win The Summit League championship, receiving 34 of the 35 first place votes. Greg Kampe
Greg Charles Kampe (born December 9, 1955) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at Oakland University. He guided the Golden Grizzlies to their first NCAA Division I tournament and tournament win in 2005. Through the 2016–17 season, he has compiled a record in 33 seasons at Oakland University. Kampe, a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, is one of nine Division I basketball coaches who have been at the same school for at least 25 seasons. Kampe is the second longest-tenured Division I head coach, behind Jim Boeheim. Kampe won The Summit League's coach of the year four times, the most recent being in 2010 and 2011. The 2009–10 Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of Memphis in the 2009–10 college basketball season, the 89th season of Tiger basketball. The Tigers were coached by first-year head coach Josh Pastner, played their home games at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee and are members of Conference USA. Romeo is a village in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,596 at the 2010 census. 2010 The Summit League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2010 Summit League men's basketball tournament was the 2010 post-season tournament for The Summit League, an NCAA Division I athletic conference. It was won by conference regular season champion Oakland University. Oakland defeated #2 seed IUPUI in the finals 76–64 behind Derick Nelson's career high 38 points. Nelson was named tournament MVP and was joined by teammates Keith Benson and Johnathon Jones on the All-Tournament Team.
