2009–10 Murray State Racers Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Murray State Racers men's basketball team represented Murray State University in the 2009–10 college basketball season. This was head coach Billy Kennedy's fourth season at Murray State. The Racers competed in the Ohio Valley Conference and played their home games at the Regional Special Events Center, also known simply as the ''RSEC''. They finished the season 31–5, 17–1 in OVC play to capture the regular season championship. They also won the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. They earned a 13 seed in the West Region where they upset 4 seed and AP #21 Vanderbilt in the first round before losing to 5 seed and AP #11 Butler in the second round. Billy Kennedy (basketball Coach)
William Joseph Kennedy Jr. (born February 2, 1964) is an American basketball coach who last served as an assistant coach for Wichita State University men's basketball team. Previously, Kennedy was the head coach of the Texas A&M University men's basketball team. He took over the position vacated by Mark Turgeon in May 2011. Prior to this, he held the same position at Murray State University for five seasons. Kennedy previously held the same position at Centenary College of Louisiana, Centenary and Southeastern Louisiana University, Southeastern Louisiana. He has served 13 seasons as a collegiate head coach and 13 as an assistant. Kennedy is a 1986 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana and 1984 graduate of Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana, New Orleans. Green Run High School
Green Run High School is a public secondary school located at 1700 Dahlia Drive of the Green Run area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Green Run hosts a very diverse student population many of which come from the large concentration of military families that have moved into the area within the past couple of decades. The school was the largest high school in Virginia when it opened in 1979, with 247,000 feet of space. When it was first opened, it had the largest enrollment in the state. Danero Axel Thomas (born 8 April 1986) is an American and Icelandic basketball player. A naturalized Icelandic citizen, he debuted with the Icelandic national basketball team in 2018. Mojave High School
Mojave High School, is a nine-month public high school that is part of Clark County School District located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. After a year of sharing a campus at Cheyenne High School on a "double session" schedule where Cheyenne students attended from 6 am to 12 pm and Mojave students attended 1 pm to 7 pm (while Mojave was under construction), the inaugural class, class of 2000, were the only class to not have an upper-class. The school began with only the Freshman class, who became the first graduating class in 2000. Isaiah Canaan (pronounced Cannon; born May 21, 1991) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Crvena zvezda of the ABA League and the EuroLeague. He was an All-American college player at Murray State University. College career Canaan, a 6'0" guard from Biloxi, Mississippi, went to Murray State after leading Biloxi High School to the 5A Mississippi state championship as a senior.
