2009–10 Mississippi State Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Mississippi State University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, 2009–10 college basketball season. This was head coach Rick Stansbury's twelfth season at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs competed in the Southeastern Conference and played their home games at Humphrey Coliseum, nicknamed ''The Hump''. They finished the season 24–12, 9–7 in SEC play. They advanced to the championship game where they were defeated by 2009–10 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team, Kentucky in overtime. They were invited to the 2010 National Invitation Tournament where they advanced to the second round before being defeated by 2009–10 North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team, North Carolina. Rick Stansbury
Richard Lee Stansbury (born December 23, 1959), is an American college basketball coach who most recently was an assistant coach at the Memphis Tigers men's basketball, University of Memphis. He was the head coach at Western Kentucky Hilltoppers basketball, Western Kentucky from 2016 to 2023 and at Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball, Mississippi State from 1998 to 2012. Stansbury completed his tenure at Mississippi State ranked 9th all-time in Southeastern Conference (SEC) wins. Renardo Sidney, Jr. (born December 6, 1989) is an American professional basketball player. An All-American in high school, he played college basketball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs from 2009 to 2012.
