2009–10 Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2009–10 Mid-American Conference men's basketball season was the 64th college basketball season in the conference's existence. The conference features 12 teams in two divisions, East and West, who compete for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season and tournament titles. Kent State won the MAC regular season title with a record of 13–3. Ninth-seeded Ohio won the MAC tournament received the MAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship tournament. There they defeated 2009–10 Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team, Georgetown 97–83 before losing to 2009–10 Tennessee Volunteers basketball team, Tennessee in the second round. Jeff Boals
Jeff Boals (born September 5, 1972) is the head coach of the Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team. Boals spent seven years as an assistant coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team under the tutelage of Thad Matta. In his first head coaching job, he replaced Steve Pikiell as the head coach for the Stony Brook Seawolves for three years. Playing career A 1995 graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences, Boals was a four-year letterwinner on the Bobcats' basketball team. Keith Dambrot
Keith Brett Dambrot (born October 26, 1958) is an American former college basketball coach who was most recently the men's basketball head coach of Duquesne University. In his final year, he led them to their first tournament appearance since 1977, and first tournament win since 1969. During his high school head coaching career, he coached future NBA star LeBron James for two years. During 13 seasons of head coaching at the University of Akron, he had a regular game season 305–139 record and was the winningest coach in the program's history. He is a three-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year. The Akron Zips men's basketball team represents the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, Akron, Ohio. The team currently competes in the Mid-American Conference East division. Dennis Hopson
Dennis Hopson (born April 22, 1965) is an American former basketball coach and professional player. A prolific scorer while playing at Ohio State University, Hopson's stellar shooting skills placed him second for the NCAA Men's Basketball Division I scoring title during the 1986–87 season and eventually first on Ohio State's all-time men's basketball career points record. Louis Orr
Louis McLaughlin Orr (May 7, 1958 – December 15, 2022) was an American basketball player and coach. He played professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and became a college basketball coach. Orr was the head coach at Bowling Green Falcons men's basketball, Bowling Green State University from 2007 to 2014 and at Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball, Seton Hall from 2001 until 2006. Billy Taylor (basketball)
Billy Taylor (born June 12, 1973) is an American college basketball coach. He is the current head coach for the Elon Phoenix men's basketball team. Taylor previously served as the head men's basketball coach at Lehigh University from 2002 to 2007 and Ball State University from 2007 to 2013. The Ball State Cardinals men's basketball team represents Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. The Cardinals first basketball season was 1920–21. The 2009–10 Tennessee Volunteers basketball team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2009-10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was the fifth season for Bruce Pearl as the Volunteers' head coach. The team, a member of the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference, played its home games at Thompson-Boling Arena.
