2009–10 LEB Oro Season
The 2009–10 LEB season is the 14th season of the Liga Española de Baloncesto The Primera FEB, formerly known as LEB or LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The FEB leagues are divided into three categories (the other two are the Segu .... The 612-game regular season (34 games for each of the 18 teams) began in September 2009, and ended in June 2010. The champion of the regular season will be promoted to ACB. The teams between 2nd and 9th position will play a best of 5 games play-off, where the winner will be promoted to ACB. The 18th team will be relegated to LEB Plata and the teams 16th and 17th will play a best of 5 games play-out. The loser, will be relegated. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Primera FEB, formerly known as LEB or LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The FEB leagues are divided into three categories (the other two are the Segunda FEB and the Tercera FEB). The league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the Primera FEB are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the Primera FEB are relegated to Segunda FEB. A total of 81 teams have competed in Primera FEB since its inception in 1996. 19 teams have been crowned champions and 30 teams have gained promotion to Liga ACB, of which only four teams could not play in Liga ACB. CB Sant Josep
Club Bàsquet Sant Josep was a professional basketball team based in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. History The club was founded in 1962 by Ramon Sitjà as CB Sant Josep. In 1989 it became the Anonymous Sport Association (SAD). In 1987, when the ACB was enlarged to 24 teams, CB Girona entered the first division. In 1991, the club had to buy the rights of the Granollers EB to stay in the ACB as they were going to be relegated to the second division. In 2007, Girona won the FIBA EuroCup championship, which was hosted at Palau Girona-Fontajau arena. They beat Azovmash Mariupol in the final after having beaten Adecco Estudiantes in the semifinals. After the end of the 2007–2008 season, CB Girona suffered serious economic problems, with a debt of over €6 million euros. Ricardo Guillén
Ricardo Guillén Mendoza (born 17 June 1976, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain) is a Spanish basketball player. He currently plays as a Power forward (basketball), power forward at CB Marbella, CB Marbella La Cañada in Liga EBA. After seven seasons in LEB Oro, he is the top scorer in the history of the league. Playing career In 2012, Guillén won with CB 1939 Canarias, Iberostar Canarias the Copa Príncipe de Asturias de Baloncesto, Copa Príncipe and the LEB Oro, achieving the promotion to Liga ACB. Guillén announced his retirement on 3 November 2016. However, he continued playing as amateur player in the Primera División de Baloncesto, fifth tier with CB Marbella, achieving promotion to Liga EBA.
