2009–10 GP2 Asia Series
The 2009–10 GP2 Asia Series season was the third season of the GP2 Asia Series. It began on 31 October 2009 and ended on 14 March 2010 after four double-header rounds. Season summary All teams from the 2009 GP2 Series season except for Racing Engineering were due to take part, with the thirteenth slot being filled by MalaysiaQi-Meritus.com. Durango withdrew from the season for financial reasons. The season was the last to use the first specification of the GP2/05 car, as used in Europe between 2005 and 2007. Davide Valsecchi of iSport International won the drivers' championship title, clinching it with three races to spare, in Bahrain after a comprehensive performance in the first five races, winning a race at each of the first three meetings with two seconds before clinching the title. Davide Valsecchi
Davide Valsecchi (born 24 January 1987) is an Italian former racing driver and the 2012 GP2 Series season, 2012 GP2 Series champion. Career Formula Renault Valsecchi drove in Renault-based series from 2003 to 2007, rising from Italian Formula Renault Championship, Italian Formula Renault and the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Formula Renault Eurocup to the more powerful cars of the World Series by Renault in 2006. Rapax Team was an Italian motor racing team. The team's history can be traced back to when the GP Racing team was founded in 1997, and also to when Piquet Sports was created in 2000 by triple world champion Nelson Piquet. Daniel Zampieri (born 22 May 1990, in Rome) is an Italian racing driver. Career Formula Renault After a two-year international karting career, Zampieri moved up to Formula Renault with BVM Racing in 2006. Making his debut in Italian Formula Renault Championship, Italian Formula Renault at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Spa–Francorchamps, Zampieri finished 17th and 18th on début. His best finish of the championship came at another Formula One venue, Hockenheimring, Hockenheim, when he finished eleventh in the opening race. A V8 engine is an eight- cylinder piston engine in which two banks of four cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration.
