2009–10 California Golden Bears Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 California Golden Bears men's basketball team represented the University of California, Berkeley in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Mike Montgomery's second season at California. The Golden Bears played their home games at Haas Pavilion and participate in the Pacific-10 Conference. The Golden Bears finished the season 24–11, 13–5 in Pac-10 play to win the regular season conference championship, their first regular season title since the 1959–60 season. They lost to Washington in the finals of the Pac-10 tournament. They received an at–large bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, earning an 8 seed in the South Region. Mike Montgomery (basketball)
Michael John Montgomery (born February 27, 1947) is a retired American basketball coach. He is best known for his 18-year tenure at Stanford Cardinal men's basketball, Stanford (1986–2004), where he led the program to 12 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four appearance in 1998 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1998. Montgomery previously served as head coach at the Montana Grizzlies basketball, Montana (1978–1986). Following his time at Stanford, he coached the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for two seasons (2004–2006) before ending his career at the California Golden Bears men's basketball, University of California (2008–2014). He announced his retirement from coaching following the 2013–14 season. Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. Jamal Thomas Boykin (born April 27, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball, Duke Blue Devils and California Golden Bears men's basketball, California Golden Bears before playing professionally in Turkey, Cyprus, Japan, Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine and New Zealand. Hales Franciscan High School (known simply as Hales) was a private 4–year all–male catholic high school located in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. Opened in 1962, Hales was part of the Archdiocese of Chicago. After 57 years, Hales closed after the 2018–2019 school year due to low–enrollment. Jerome Randle
Jerome Jerry Randle (born May 21, 1987; ) is an American-Ukrainian former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the California Golden Bears before playing professionally in several European countries. Randle has a Ukrainian passport and represented Ukraine at EuroBasket 2015. While playing for the Golden Bears, Randle was a two-time first-team All-Pac-10 honoree and won the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2010. He was named to the Pac-12 Hall of Honor in January 2017.
