2009–10 Ball State Cardinals Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Ball State Cardinals basketball team represented Ball State University in the college basketball season of 2009–10. The team was coached by Billy Taylor and played their homes game in the John E. Worthen Arena. Before the season Roster changes The Cardinals lost three starters from last year's squad due to graduation. Of those three seniors, Brandon Lampley was the only one with a double digit Points-per-game statistic, with 10.0 points per game. Along with him were two other guards from the team, Laron Frazier and Rob Giles. Along with these three players, Ball State also lost three other players, one of those being Anthony Newell. Newell was only five points away from breaking 1,000 points within Ball State's men's basketball team when he broke his leg in a 46–42 victory over Eastern Michigan. Billy Taylor (basketball)
Billy Taylor (born June 12, 1973) is an American college basketball coach. He is the current head coach for the Elon Phoenix men's basketball team. Taylor previously served as the head men's basketball coach at Lehigh University from 2002 to 2007 and Ball State University from 2007 to 2013. Playing career Taylor was an honor roll student and commencement speaker at West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois. He was recruited by Digger Phelps to play at the University of Notre Dame, though he played under John MacLeod (basketball), John MacLeod. Coaching career After spending three years working for Arthur Andersen and earning his Certified Public Accountant, CPA, Taylor took an assistant coaching position under MacLeod at Notre Dame in 1998. The Liacouras Center is a 10,206-seat multi-purpose venue which opened in 1997 and was originally named "''The Apollo of Temple''". 2009–10 Temple Owls Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Temple Owls men's basketball team represented Temple University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by head coach Fran Dunphy and played their home games at the Liacouras Center. The Owls are members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 29–6, 14–2 in A-10 play to claim a share of the regular season championship.
