2009 National Football League (Ireland)
The 2009 National Football League (Ireland), National Football League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Allianz National Football League, was the 78th staging of the National Football League (Ireland), National Football League (NFL), an annual Gaelic football tournament for the Gaelic Athletic Association county teams of Ireland. The League began on 31 January 2009. Thirty-two Gaelic football county teams from the island of Ireland, plus London GAA, London, participated. On 26 April, Kerry GAA, Kerry defeated Derry GAA, Derry by 1-15 to 0-15 to win their 19th league title. Format League structure The 2009 format of the National Football League was a system of four divisions. The top three divisions consisted of 8 teams, and Division 4 contained nine teams. Darran O'Sullivan
Darran O'Sullivan (born 3 May 1986 in London, England) is a Gaelic footballer. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Glenbeigh-Glencar, his divisional side Mid Kerry GAA, Mid Kerry and at senior level for the Kerry county football team, Kerry county team from 2005 until 2018. O'Sullivan Captain (Gaelic games), captained Kerry to the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, All-Ireland title in 2009. The Donegal County Board () or Donegal GAA is one of 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Donegal. Cusack Park (Mullingar)
Cusack Park (' in Irish language, Irish) is a Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA stadium in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is the main grounds of Westmeath GAA's Gaelic football and hurling teams. History The ground, named after GAA founder Michael Cusack (Gaelic Athletic Association), Michael Cusack, was opened in 1933 and had a capacity of 15,000. However following a national review of health and safety at GAA grounds in 2011, the overall capacity was reduced to 11,500. The opening of the stadium was marked by two matches on the same day, the latter match, Dublin versus Kerry, was opened by the dropping of a ball from a low-flying aeroplane. In August 1994, a £1 million development programme was announced for the stadium including a new stand that would accommodate more than 2,000 with an additional 1,000 in covered accommodation, which was to begin in 1995 and be completed in time for the 1995 County Finals.
