The 2009 BWF World Championships was the 17th tournament of the World Badminton Championships. Gachibowli Indoor Stadium
G. M. C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium is an indoor arena located in Hyderabad, India. It holds 5,000 people. It is located in the Gachibowli suburb. The stadium was built in 2002 headed by N. Zhou Mi (badminton)
Zhou Mi (; born 18 February 1979) is a Chinese badminton player. During much of her career she represented the People's Republic of China, but since 2007 she has represented Hong Kong which has a sports program and teams independent from those of the mainland. In 2010, she received a 2-year ban, for failing a drugs test. Career Since 1998 Zhou has won more than twenty international singles titles on the world circuit and has achieved number one world rankings at various times. She was a silver medalist behind compatriot Gong Ruina at the 2001 IBF World Championships and was a bronze medalist at the 2003 Championships. She won women's singles at the quadrennial Asian Games in 2002, defeating Gong Ruina in the final. Judith Meulendijks
Judith Meulendijks (born 26 September 1978, Helmond) is a former badminton player from the Netherlands. Career Meulendijks started playing badminton at the BC Phoenix in her hometown and then she went to BC Geldrop. In her junior career, she won 1994 Dutch junior championships in the girls' doubles partnered with Antoinette Achterberg, and in 1995 in the mixed doubles with Dicky Palyama. In 1996, she elected to join the national team, and in the same year, she won the national women's singles title. In 2007, she won the gold medal at the European Junior Championships in the girls' singles event, and also became the first of world-class junior players to make a mark on the International Badminton Federation tournament circuit when she took the women's singles title at the Dutch Open. Maria Kristin Yulianti (born 25 June 1985) is an Indonesian badminton player. She is a bronze medalist in Badminton at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's singles, women's singles at the 2008 Olympics. Datin Wong Mew Choo (born 1 May 1983) is a Malaysian former badminton singles player. Yip Pui Yin
Yip Pui Yin (; born 6 August 1987) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. Career Yip played at the 2005 World Badminton Championships in Anaheim. In the women's singles event she reached the third round after beating Laura Molina of Spain and Kanako Yonekura (11th seed) in round one and round two respectively. In the third round she was beaten by the 1st seed and reigning world champion Zhang Ning of China. Hwang Hye-youn
Hwang Hye-youn (; born April 3, 1985, in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province) is a retired female badminton player from South Korea. Hwang started playing badminton at 7, at her local elementary school. Hwang who educated at the Pocheon High School, competed at the 2002 Asian Junior Championships, and won the silver medal in the girls' team event. She entered the South Korea national team in 2004. Although she won national championships in 2005 and 2006, she wasn't known internationally until she beat reigning World Champion Xie Xingfang en route to the final of the 2006 Thailand Open. Juliane Schenk (born 26 November 1982) is a German badminton player. In March 2014 she retired from international play. Career In 2001, she won the European Junior Championships in women's singles. 2003 saw her win the women's doubles with Nicole Grether in two tournaments, the Irish International and the Bitburger Open. Petya Nedelcheva (; born 30 July 1983) is a Bulgarian badminton player. She was born in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. At the Bulgarian National Badminton Championships she won more than 20 titles. Wang Chen (; born 21 June 1976) is a Chinese badminton player who later represented Hong Kong. Career In 1994, Wang won the gold medal at the World Junior Championships in the girls' singles.
