2009–10 Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Iowa State Cyclones women's basketball team represented the Iowa State University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Bill Fennelly and played their home games at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. The Lady Clones finished second the Big 12 Conference and earned a #4 seed and a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA women's tournament. Hilton Magic propelled the team through the first and second rounds with attendance at Hilton Coliseum ranked 2nd in the nation. Bill Fennelly
William Michael Fennelly (born May 14, 1957) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at Iowa State University. Coaching career Assistant coach (1977–1986) While a student at William Penn College, Fennelly became a volunteer assistant coach with the William Penn women's basketball team in 1977. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics in 1979, Fennelly became a full-time assistant coach with William Penn. Fennelly moved up to the Division I level as an assistant coach at Fresno State from 1981 to 1986 and Notre Dame from 1986 to 1988. Toledo (1988–1995) At the University of Toledo, Fennelly was head coach from 1988 to 1995 and had a cumulative record of 166–53, with a .758 winning percentage that remains the best in the Mid-American Conference. Knapp Center
The Knapp Center is a 6,424-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. It was built in 1992. The Knapp Center is the center building for three athletic buildings combined. The Bell Center to the west is a general athletic building with offices, a pool, gym, and locker rooms. To the east is the Shivers' Basketball Practice facility, which opened in 2014. The Knapp Center itself also holds a weight room by the northwest corner of the basketball court. The namesake of the arena comes from William Knapp, who is the chairman of Iowa Realty and a member of the Drake University Board of Trustees.
