2008–09 Utah Jazz Season
The 2008–09 Utah Jazz season was the 35th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the 30th since the team moved from New Orleans to Salt Lake City for the 1979–80 NBA season, 1979–80 season. For the third straight year, the Jazz made the playoffs, but as the number 8 seed. The Jazz were quickly knocked out of the playoffs with a defeat to the 2008–09 Los Angeles Lakers season, Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round, losing in five games, and having their season ended by the Lakers for a second consecutive time. Jerry Sloan
Gerald Eugene Sloan (March 28, 1942 – May 22, 2020) was an American professional basketball player and coach. He played 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) before beginning a 30-year coaching career, 23 of which were spent as head coach of the Utah Jazz (1988–2011). NBA commissioner David Stern referred to Sloan as "one of the greatest and most respected coaches in NBA history". Sloan was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009. After playing college basketball with the Evansville Purple Aces men's basketball, Evansville Purple Aces, Sloan was selected by the Baltimore Bullets (1963–1973), Baltimore Bullets with the fourth overall pick of the 1965 NBA draft. Tadija Dragićević ( sr-cyr, Тадија Драгићевић; born 28 January 1986) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. Standing at , he played the power forward (basketball), power forward position. Konstantine Demetrios "Kostas" Koufos ( Greek: ; born February 24, 1989) is a Greek-American professional basketball player who is a free agent. Type 2 diabetes (T2D), formerly known as adult-onset diabetes, is a form of diabetes mellitus that is characterized by high blood sugar, insulin resistance, and relative lack of insulin.
