2008–09 Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball Team
The 2008–09 Dayton Flyers men's basketball team represented the University of Dayton during the 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Flyers, led by sixth year head coach Brian Gregory, played their home games at the University of Dayton Arena and were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 27–8, 11–5 in A-10 play for a tie for second-place. They received an at-large bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament where they defeated 2008–09 West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team, West Virginia in the round of 64 before losing in the round of 32 to defending national champion 2008–09 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team, Kansas. Brian Gregory
Brian Francis Gregory (born December 15, 1966) is an American basketball executive and former coach and player who is the general manager of the Phoenix Suns. He was vice president of player programming for the Phoenix Suns, and a former college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at South Florida. He was previously serving as a consultant to Tom Izzo at Michigan State after being let go as head coach with Georgia Tech. Prior to coaching at Georgia Tech, he was the head coach at Dayton and an assistant coach under Izzo at Michigan State. Early life and education From 1985 to 1986, Gregory attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he played on the Navy team that featured David Robinson and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. Maywood is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States, in the Chicago metropolitan area. It was founded on April 6, 1869, and organized October 22, 1881. The population was 23,512 at the 2020 census. History There was limited European-American settlement in the Maywood area before a railroad was built after the American Civil War, which stimulated the rise of Chicago.
