2007–08 Virginia Cavaliers Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavaliers sought to continue their 2006–07 season success in which they finished tied for first place in the conference with North Carolina (see 2006–07 Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball season). The Cavaliers were picked to finish 5th place for the 2007–2008 season in the ACC Preseason Poll. Senior Sean Singletary was named to the five-member preseason All-ACC team. Dave Leitao
David Antonio Leitao Jr. (born May 18, 1960) is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for City Reapers of Overtime Elite (OTE). He has previously been the head coach of the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League, DePaul University, the University of Virginia, and his alma mater; Northeastern University. He was named the 2006–07 Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year by the Associated Press, but finished at 10th and 11th place in the conference during his final two years with the Virginia Cavaliers. He resigned as the Virginia basketball coach on March 18, 2009. Leitao is Cape Verdean American. He was the first coach of African descent to coach any varsity sport in University of Virginia history. Woodside High School is one of six high schools in Newport News, Virginia. The Virginia Department of Education has accredited Woodside since the 2003–04 school year. The school has a twin school, Heritage High School, that was built simultaneously and designed by the same architects. Woodside High School is a Fully Accredited High School, and it met the Adequate Yearly Progress marks for the No Child Left Behind Act established by the Federal Government. DeMatha Catholic High School is a four-year Catholic high school for boys located in Hyattsville, Maryland, United States.
