2007–08 Stanford Cardinal Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Stanford Cardinal men's basketball team represented Stanford University during the 2007–08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cardinal were led by fourth year head coach Trent Johnson, and played their home games at Maples Pavilion as a member of the Pacific-10 Conference. After the season ended Trent Johnson would leave Stanford and accept the job at LSU. Previous season The Cardinal started the season winning eight of their first ten games. After a small stumble against #7 Arizona and in-state rival California, the Cardinal followed it up with seven straight wins, four of which against ranked teams. Following those four wins against ranked teams, they began the next week in the top 25 for the first time under Trent Johnson. While being ranked, Stanford would lose three of their next four and fall out of the top 25 and ended the regular season going 3–3 in the final six games. Trent Johnson
Trent Aubrey Johnson (born September 12, 1956) is a former American college basketball coach. Johnson had previously been the head coach at Cal State University Northridge, Texas Christian University, Louisiana State University, Stanford University, and University of Nevada. Early life and education Johnson was born in Berkeley, California. He graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington in 1974 and played at Boise State University from 1974 to 1978. He received his bachelor's degree in physical education from Boise State in 1983. Coaching career Nevada The University of Nevada, Reno hired Johnson as head coach for Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball on March 7, 1999. This culminated in the 2003–04 season, when Johnson guided the Wolf Pack to a 25–9 record and its first NCAA tournament appearance since 1985. Deer Valley High School is a public high school located in Glendale, Arizona, part of the Deer Valley Unified School District. The school opened its doors in 1980 with an initial enrollment of 750 students. Today, the campus is housed on more than with a current enrollment of about 1,900 students. San Francisco Dons Men's Basketball
The San Francisco Dons men's basketball team represents the University of San Francisco in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Dons compete in the West Coast Conference, where they have won sixteen regular season championships and one conference tournament championship. The current head coach is Chris Gerlufsen. They play home games at the War Memorial Gymnasium, which also serves as the venue for women's basketball, volleyball, athletic department offices, and athletic training rooms. Some games may be played at Chase Center. The basketball team claims three national titles: the 1949 NIT under Pete Newell, and the 1955 and 1956 NCAA Division I championships. Burlingame High School is a public high school in Burlingame, California. It is part of the San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD). History In order to meet the growing student population, the school was opened in December 1923 under the name "San Mateo High School, Burlingame Branch." Designed by architect W. H. Weeks, the school took in students from Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, and San Bruno. Initial enrollment consisted of 350 students and 30 teachers. As a branch of San Mateo High School, extracurricular organizations were shared between the schools.
