2007–08 St Mirren F.C. Season
The 2007–08 season was St Mirren F.C., St Mirren's second consecutive season in the Scottish Premier League, and they were looking to improve on last season's 11th placing ahead of Dunfermline Athletic F.C., Dunfermline. They also competed in the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup, however were the subject of a shock defeat in the League Cup by Scottish Football League Third Division, 3rd Division East Fife F.C., East Fife. They were knocked out in the 6th Round of the Scottish Cup by Scottish Football League First Division, First Division side St Johnstone F.C., St Johnstone. The Buddies began 2008 much more positively than 2007 where they won only 2 home games. By 19 January, they had broken this record by winning 3 games in a row. Craig Dargo
Craig Peter Dargo (born 3 January 1978) is a Scottish former professional football player and coach. Dargo played for Raith Rovers, Kilmarnock, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, St Mirren, Partick Thistle, Dumbarton, Dunfermline Athletic and Berwick Rangers. Career Early career Dargo began his career with Kirkcaldy side Raith Rovers. He scored 29 goals in 82 league games before moving to Kilmarnock on a free transfer in June 2000. He remained at Rugby Park for the next five years. During this time he made his first appearance in European competition, scoring as Kilmarnock were eliminated by Norwegian side Viking in the UEFA Cup. Kirk Broadfoot
Kirk John Broadfoot (born 8 August 1984) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish League One club Kelty Hearts. Broadfoot started his senior career with St Mirren and he helped the club gain promotion to the Scottish Premier League by winning the 2005–06 Scottish First Division. He moved to Rangers as a free agent in 2007 and enjoyed success with the Ibrox club until he left Rangers by mutual consent in August 2012. Broadfoot then joined English club Blackpool, but was released by them in May 2014, moving on to Rotherham. In 2017 he returned to Scotland and joined Kilmarnock, spending two full seasons with the club. Broadfoot returned to St Mirren in September 2019, but in January 2020 he moved back to Kilmarnock. The New England Revolution are an American professional association football, soccer club based in the Greater Boston area. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference (MLS), Eastern Conference. It is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its 1996 Major League Soccer season, inaugural season. Andrew Dorman (born 1 May 1982) is a former professional footballer. During his club career, he played as a midfielder for New England Revolution, Crystal Palace and St. Mirren. Born in England, represented the Wales national team. Christopher Birchall CM (born 5 May 1984) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He scored 21 goals in 322 league and cup appearances in a 16-year professional career and scored four goals in 44 international matches for Trinidad and Tobago. Forging his career with local club Port Vale, he earned worldwide recognition by playing at the 2006 FIFA World Cup for Trinidad and Tobago – the country of his mother's birth. Paul Mathers
Paul Mathers (born 17 January 1970) is a Scottish professional footballer and coach. He is currently the goalkeeping coach at Scottish Championship side Dundee United, appointed in July 2023. Career Between 1986 and 1996, Mathers made 132 appearances for Dundee, before moving to Falkirk, where he played 91 times in three years. In 1999, he moved to Linfield, making 63 appearances until a transfer back to Dundee in 2001. In his second stint at Dundee, which lasted for only one season, Mathers did not make a league appearance and was loaned out twice. Helsingborgs Idrottsförening, commonly referred to as Helsingborgs IF, Helsingborg or (especially locally) HIF (), is a Swedish professional football club located in Helsingborg. They play in the Swedish second tier, Superettan, following relegation in the 2022 Allsvenskan season. Formed in 1907, the club has won five national championship titles and five national cup titles. Franco Miranda
Franco Andrés Miranda (born 13 May 1985) is an Argentine footballer who played as a left full back. Career Miranda signed for St Mirren in August 2007, on loan from Argentine club CAI. He had returned to Argentina from Sweden, where he was with Helsingborg. Miranda has also played for River Plate during his career. In the 2007/08 close season, he had been training with Scottish Premier League team St Mirren and a one-year loan deal was eventually agreed with them.
