2007–08 Oakland Golden Grizzlies Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University in the 2007–08 college basketball season. Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, Oakland was coached by Greg Kampe and played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena. The Golden Grizzlies finished the season 17–14 overall and 11–7 in The Summit League. Oakland advanced to the 2008 Summit League men's basketball tournament, semi-finals of The Summit League tournament before falling to IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball, Indiana–Purdue Indianapolis 80–65. Greg Kampe
Greg Charles Kampe (; born December 9, 1955) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at Oakland University. He guided the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, Golden Grizzlies to their first NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA Division I tournament in 2005 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2005, winning in the First Four round. Kampe, a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, is one of nine Division I basketball coaches who have been at the same school for at least 25 seasons. Kampe won The Summit League's coach of the year four times, the most recent being in 2010 and 2011. Kampe won his 500th career game January 26, 2013. Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy is a private Catholic K-12 school in Pontiac, Michigan in Metro Detroit. Founded by Marist Fathers and Brothers in 1994. Olaseni Abdul-Jelili "Shane" Lawal (born October 8, 1986) is a retired Nigerian-American professional basketball player. He played the center position. College career Lawal played college basketball for three years at Oakland University, with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, before moving to Wayne State University, where he played with the Wayne State Warriors during the 2008–09 season. Walled Lake is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northwestern suburb of Detroit, Walled Lake is located roughly northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 7,246. History The town's name is said to have been given by the first American settler, Walter Hewitt, in 1825. Shrine Catholic Schools is a private, co-educational Catholic school serving preschool through grade 12. It is located in Royal Oak, Michigan, and is affiliated with the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica.
