2007–08 Lincoln City F.C. Season
During the 2007–08 season Lincoln City F.C. played in Football League Two after finishing last season in fifth place in the Football League Two and losing another play-off semi-final the previous season. It marked Lincoln's 101st season in the Football League, becoming one of only 26 clubs to have completed 100 or more seasons since the league's formation in 1888. The club are the first club to have reached the milestone without playing top-flight football. This season marked the club's 79th season in the lowest possible division in the Football League, and the 36th season in the fourth tier of English football. The club have now been competing in the fourth tier for nine successive seasons, with their last season in a higher division coming in 1998–99. Peter Jackson (footballer, Born 1961)
Peter Allan Jackson (born 6 April 1961) is a football manager and former player. He has previously had two spells as Huddersfield Town manager, whom he helped win the Division Three play-off in 2004, and he has also managed Lincoln City, before taking charge at his former playing club Bradford City in 2011. As a player, Jackson started his career with his hometown club Bradford City, where as the club's youngest ever captain, he lifted the Third Division title in 1985 on the day of the Bradford City stadium fire. He moved to top flight side Newcastle United before he returned to Bradford City. He played more than 300 games in total for City, before moving to Huddersfield Town and Chester City. Lee Jonathan Beevers (born 4 December 1983) is a former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. He previously had spells with Ipswich Town, Boston United, Lincoln City, Colchester United, Walsall and Mansfield Town. Born in England, he made seven appearances for the Wales U21 national team. Paul Michael Green (born 15 April 1987) is an English former footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. Playing career Aston Villa Born in Birmingham, Green started his career as a professional at Aston Villa progressing from the youth ranks. Shane Robin Clarke (born 7 November 1987) is an English footballer who plays for Lincoln United, where he plays as a midfielder. Clarke notably played professionally in the Football League during a four-year spell with Lincoln City. Ayden Stuart Duffy (born 16 November 1986) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played as a professional in the Football League for Lincoln City where he made five League appearances and was loaned out to a host of Non-League sides during his tenure at Sincil Bank which notably included a spell with Cambridge United. Scott Anthony Kerr (born 11 December 1981) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
