2007–08 Indiana Hoosiers Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team represented Indiana University during the 2007-08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Indiana was a member of the Big Ten Conference. They played their home games in Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana. The interim head coach at the end of the season was Dan Dakich. Indiana University announced on February 22, 2008, that Kelvin Sampson accepted a $750,000 buyout of his contract and resigned as the Indiana University men's basketball coach. On March 10, 2008 D. J. White and Eric Gordon were named to the First Team All-Big Ten and Armon Bassett was named to the third team. White was also named the Conference player of the year. In the off season, starters Armon Bassett and Jamarcus Ellis were dismissed from the team after they failed to show up for a player meeting with coach Dakich, then failed to show up for a 6 a.m. run the following day. Kelvin Sampson
Kelvin Dale Sampson (born October 5, 1955) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach for the University of Houston of the Big 12 Conference. Early life Sampson was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, to parents who were members of the Lumbee Native American community of Deep Branch in Robeson County, North Carolina, in which he was reared. Sampson excelled in the classroom and the athletic arena during his prep days at Pembroke High School, in Pembroke, North Carolina. Sampson was captain of his high school basketball team for two years, and played for his father John W. "Ned" Sampson, who was later named to the UNC Pembroke Athletics Hall of Fame. His father was also one of the 500 Lumbee Native Americans who made national news by driving the Ku Klux Klan out of Maxton, North Carolina in what is annually celebrated by the Lumbee as the Battle of Hayes Pond. Jordan Crawford
Jordan Lee Crawford (born October 23, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers and the Xavier Musketeers. His brother is Joe Crawford, who has also played in the NBA. Early life Crawford was born to parents Joseph Sr. and Sylvia Crawford in Detroit, Michigan in 1988. Sears Centre
The Now Arena (originally known as the Sears Centre, Sears Centre Arena and stylized as NOW Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a northwest suburb from Chicago, near land which formerly contained the Poplar Creek Music Theater. Since 2016, the arena has been home to the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls' affiliate in the NBA G League. 2007–08 Illinois State Redbirds Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball team represented Illinois State University during the 2007–08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redbirds, led by first year head coach Tim Jankovich, played their home games at Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena and were a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Redbirds finished the season 25–10, 13–5 in conference play to finish in second place. They were the number two seed for the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. They won their quarterfinal game versus Missouri State University and semifinal game versus the University of Northern Iowa but lost their final game versus Drake University. The Redbirds received an at-large bid to the 2008 National Invitation Tournament and were assigned the number two seed in the Ohio State University regional. Springhill is a small city in the northernmost of Webster Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 5,279 at the 2010 census, a decrease of 160 since 2000. DeAndre "Cheesecake" Thomas (born September 28, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for the Albany Patroons of the North American Premier Basketball. Elijah Lee Holman (born March 22, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Mahram Tehran of the Iranian Basketball Super League (IBSL). After a brief appearance in the 2012 NBA Summer League he signed with Israeli team Hapoel Eilat, where he started his professional career. He has appeared in the NBA Summer League in 2013 and 2014, but never signed for an NBA team. Holman has played in Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, Puerto Rico, China, and Iran throughout his career.
