2007–08 Deportivo De La Coruña Season
The 2007–08 season was Deportivo de La Coruña's 37th season in La Liga, the top division of Spanish football. They also competed in the Copa del Rey. The season covered the period 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008. Season summary After a poor 2006–07 campaign, in which Deportivo finished 13th, coach Joaquín Caparrós was fired, and replaced by Real Sociedad's Miguel Ángel Lotina, who signed a one-year contract. Lotina improved ''Depors league form, and they ended the year in 9th, qualifying for the 2008 UEFA Intertoto Cup. However, they fell at the first hurdle in the Copa del Rey, being eliminated in the round of 32 by Espanyol. Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña (), commonly known as Deportivo La Coruña () or simply Depor, is a Spanish professional association football, football club based in the city of A Coruña, Galicia, that competes in the Segunda División, the second tier of Spanish football league system. Iván Sánchez-Rico Soto (born 11 August 1980), known as Riki, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his professional career with Deportivo, appearing in 226 competitive games and scoring 58 goals. Club career Real Madrid Riki was born in Aranjuez, Community of Madrid. Joan Verdú Fernández (; born 5 May 1983) is a Spanish former professional footballer. Sebastián Taborda
Sebastián Taborda Ramos (born 22 May 1981) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a centre forward. Club career Born in Montevideo, Taborda started playing professionally with Defensor Sporting, and went on to serve three loan stints in as many countries. In the summer 2005 he joined La Liga club Deportivo de La Coruña, with the Spaniards playing €2.9 million for his services. At the Galicians, Taborda was only a third-string striker, also having to battle with a series of injuries. Rodolfo Bodipo Díaz (born 25 October 1977) is a former professional footballer who played as a striker, and is a current manager and politician. Julian Bobby de Guzman (born March 25, 1981) is a Canadian association football, soccer executive and former professional player and coach who currently serves as the Sporting Director for the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer. Fabricio Tomás Coloccini (; ; born 22 January 1982) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Coloccini began his club career at Boca Juniors in his native Argentina attracting the attention of AC Milan. He failed to establish himself there and was loaned to four clubs.
