2007–08 Coca-Cola Tigers Season
The 2007–08 Coca-Cola Tigers season was the 6th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). After JB Bailon replaced Hector Calma as manager one season ago, Mark Telan was acquired by giving up draft picks, while Joseph Yeo was traded to Sta. Lucia Realtors in exchange of Mark Isip and Cesar Catli. In mid-season, Tigers acquired Asi Taulava from Talk 'N Text Phone Pals in exchange for Ali Peek. The move made Phone Pals the "team to beat" for the 2008 Fiesta Conference. But with that, the Tigers finished 4th place in the Fiesta Conference, but lost in the quarterfinals against Magnolia Beverage. Key dates *August 19: The 2007 PBA Draft took place in Market! Binky Favis
Vincent Kenneth "Binky" Marasigan Favis (born November 22, 1969) is a Filipino former professional basketball head coach, businessman, and politician. Coaching career He was also a former player of the UST Growling Tigers and was an assistant coach of the 1993 squad, which swept the University Athletic Association of the Philippines men's basketball tournament, he also stayed until 1997. In 1995, he coached the Tiger Cubs, until 1999. Favis is a former coach of the Letran Knights in the NCAA leading them to a title in 1999. He also coached in Philippine Basketball League for several teams. In 2000, he was hired by Chot Reyes as an assistant coach for Pop Cola Panthers. When Pop Cola was sold to Coke Philippines in 2001, he stayed to be an assistant coach for Coke Tigers and won two PBA championships. San Miguel Beermen
The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots. It is the most successful franchise in the history of the PBA and the only remaining original franchise in the league. The Beermen have the most titles with 29 and the most all-time victories with more than 1,200 wins. The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 PBA season, 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Magnolia Hotshots for the third-most titles overall. They were one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines. Barako Bull Energy
The Barako Bull Energy were a Philippine Basketball Association that began in 2002 as the FedEx Express. From its first season until 2005, the team was dubbed as the FedEx Express before changing to Air21 Express. From the 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference until the 2009–10 PBA Philippine Cup, it became known as the Burger King Titans. However, when manager Mikee Romero decided to pull out of the team, they were reorganized and renamed the Burger King Whoppers before returning to their original name starting the 2010 PBA Fiesta Conference. Ramon "Mon" Jose is a Filipino basketball coach who serving as one of the three assistant coaches under Chito Victolero of the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in the PBA. Education He also played for the De La Salle Green Archers from 1997 to 2000 under Franz Pumaren. The BYU–Hawaii Seasiders men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University–Hawaii at the NCAA Division II level in college basketball. The San Sebastian Stags basketball program represents San Sebastian College – Recoletos (SSC-R) in men's basketball as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA).
