Donny Tourette
Towers of London are an English punk rock band, who formed in 2004. Their music mixes elements of rock and glam metal music with 1977 style British punk. The band have divided the opinions of the British music press since their emergence in early 2004. History In 2003, a band was formed named 'The Tourettes', featuring Dirk and Donny Tourette (real names Francis and Patrick Brannan); the brothers had been playing together in rock bands since secondary school. The Tourettes played in a glam punk style, which has been described as "''a post Manic Street Preachers rock 'n' roll rush''". ''Blood, Sweat and Towers'' The band signed to New York independent record label TVT Records in early 2005. Scotland Today
''Scotland Today'' was a Scottish regional news programme covering Central Scotland, produced by STV Central (formerly Scottish Television). Despite its name suggesting a national remit, the programme was actually limited to stories around STV's Central Belt franchise. '' North Tonight'' covered STV's North Scotland region (from North Fife upwards), until both programmes were renamed '' STV News at Six'' in March 2009. History 1970s Based in Glasgow, the programme began on 11 September 1972, as a successor to ''Dateline'', which had been presented by Bill Tennent since 1970. Its style was very similar to its BBC counterpart ''Reporting Scotland''. Initially co-presented by John Toye and Bill Kerr Elliot, within a year, Toye became its solo presenter, a position he held for 12 years. STV Group plc (formerly known as Scottish Television plc, Scottish Media Group plc and SMG plc) is a media company based in Glasgow, Scotland. Emley Moor
The Emley Moor transmitting station is a telecommunications and broadcasting facility on Emley Moor, west of the village centre of Emley, in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It is made up of a concrete tower and apparatus that began to transmit in 1971. It is protected under UK law as a Grade II listed building. It is the tallest freestanding structure in the United Kingdom, and 25th tallest tower in the world. It was the seventh tallest freestanding structure and was fourth tallest tower in the European Union before Brexit. When built it was the sixth tallest freestanding structure in the world after the Ostankino Tower, the Empire State Building, 875 North Michigan Avenue (known as The John Hancock Center), the Berliner Fernsehturm and Tokyo Tower. ITV News ''Calendar'' is a British television news service broadcast and produced by ITV Yorkshire. Overview The news service transmits to Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, northwestern Norfolk and parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas of England. It is produced and broadcast from ITV Yorkshire's Leeds studios with district reporters and camera crews based at newsrooms in Hull, Lincoln, Sheffield and York. The programme currently transmits into two sub regions. * Calendar West serving West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and parts of South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. * Calendar East serving East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and parts of South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Norfolk. Michael Ian Grade, Baron Grade of Yarmouth (born 8 March 1943) is an English Media proprietor, television executive and businessman. He has held a number of senior roles in television, including controller of BBC1 (1984–1986), chief executive of Channel 4 (1988–1997), Chairman of the BBC, chairman of the board of governors of the BBC (2004–2006), and executive chairman of ITV plc (2007–2009). Henry Kenneth Alfred Russell (3 July 1927 – 27 November 2011) was a British film director, known for his pioneering work in television and film and for his flamboyant and controversial style. His films were mainly liberal adaptations of existing texts, or biographies, notably of composers of the Romantic music, Romantic era. Russell began directing for the BBC, where he made creative adaptations of composers' lives which were unusual for the time. Just The Two Of Us (TV Series)
''Just the Two of Us'' is a British television reality singing contest hosted by Vernon Kay and Tess Daly, to date the only show that the couple have worked together on. The first series of the BBC show saw eight celebrities team up with professional singers and sing each night in duets, with one pair being eliminated every night. After each performance they were judged by a panel of industry experts. The basic format of the show was first used in another BBC programme, ''Strictly Come Dancing''. It was cancelled in April 2007 after two series. Format During the weeklong run, each day, all the celebrities perform a duet with a professional singer. The judges then give comments on each performance. Once the contestants have returned to the "Green Room" (Backstage), the judges each then each give the couple a score from 1 to 10. Marti Pellow
Marti Pellow (born Mark McLachlan; 23 March 1965) is a Scottish singer. He was the lead singer of the pop group Wet Wet Wet for 28 years: from their formation in 1982 until their split in 1997, and again from their reformation in 2004 to his departure in 2017. He has also recorded albums as a solo artist, and performed as an actor in musical theatre productions in both the West End theatre, West End and on Broadway theatre, Broadway.
