Matt Painter
Matthew Curtis Painter (born August 27, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former player, who is the current and 19th head coach of the Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball, Purdue Boilermakers, serving in that role since 2005. He played college basketball at Purdue from 1989 to 1993. He was also the head coach of the Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball, Southern Illinois Salukis from 2003 to 2004. Painter was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended high school at Delta High School (Muncie, Indiana), Delta High School in Muncie, Indiana. After graduation from high school in 1989, Painter enrolled at Purdue University and played point guard for the Boilermakers, starting for one season. The 2006–07 Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders men's basketball team represented Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Islanders, led by eighth-year head coach Ronnie Arrow, competed as members of the Southland Conference. They played most of their home games at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. They finished the season 26–7, 14–2 in Southland play to atop the conference standings. Maui Invitational Tournament
The Maui Invitational is an annual early-season college basketball tournament that takes place Thanksgiving week, normally in Lahaina, Hawaii, at the Lahaina Civic Center on the island of Maui. It is hosted by Chaminade University of Honolulu, an NCAA Division II school. Seven or eight NCAA Division I men's basketball teams are invited to Maui to compete in the field, with Chaminade competing every other year. The Maui Invitational has been played since 1984 and is carried by ESPN. As of 2024, the title sponsor of the tournament is Novavax.
