2006–07 Chicago Bulls Season
The 2006–07 Chicago Bulls season was the 41st season for the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team finished with a record of 49–33 in the regular season and reached the second round of the NBA playoffs, making it, at the time, their most successful season since the retirement of Michael Jordan, but nevertheless leaving some doubt amongst fans as to whether the team could compete for an NBA championship in the near future. The Bulls had the best team defensive rating in the NBA. In the playoffs, the Bulls swept the defending NBA champion Miami Heat in four games in the First Round, before losing to the Detroit Pistons in six games in the Semifinals. Scott Skiles
Scott Allen Skiles Sr. (born March 5, 1964) is an American former basketball coach and player. He coached the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic. A first-round draft pick out of Michigan State University, Skiles played ten seasons as a point guard in the National Basketball Association, NBA. He holds the NBA record for List of National Basketball Association players with most assists in a game, assists in one game with 30, set in his fifth season in the league and second with Orlando, in which he also earned the 1990–91 NBA season, 1990–91 NBA Most Improved Player Award. Tyson Chandler
Tyson Cleotis Chandler (born October 2, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. Chandler was drafted directly out of high school as the second overall pick of the 2001 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, then was immediately traded to the Chicago Bulls. He has also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers. As starting center for Dallas, he played an integral role in the franchise's first NBA championship in 2011. Chandler was named to the NBA All-Defensive Team three times. While with New York, he was voted the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2012, when he was also named to the All-NBA Third Team. 2006–07 Atlanta Hawks Season
The 2006–07 Atlanta Hawks season was the 58th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the 39th in Atlanta. The Hawks had the fifth overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft, and selected Shelden Williams out of Duke University. During the offseason, the team signed free agent Speedy Claxton and re-signed former Hawks center Lorenzen Wright. The Hawks got off to a strong start winning four of their first five games. However, the lack of talent on the court continued to weigh down the Hawks as they entered the New Year with a 9–20 record, including an 8-game losing streak.
