2006–07 Air21 Express Season
The 2006–07 Air21 Express season was the 5th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The season was notable for drafting future superstar Arwind Santos. In the Philippine Cup, the Express finished in the wildcard round-robin, and ended up against Sta. Lucia Realtors in a knock-out match for final quarterfinal slot, but lost. Bo Perasol
Dolreich "Bo" Perasol (born November 30, 1971) is a Filipino people, Filipino basketball coach. He coaches in both collegiate and professional leagues. He is the former head coach of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the UP Fighting Maroons, and is the current director of the University of the Philippines Office of Athletics and Sports Development. Career Bo Perasol was a former player and team captain of the UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP from the year 1990–1994, one of his notable teammates was Ryan Gregorio, a successful PBA coach. He is among the few athletes of the university who actually passed the UP College Admission Test, a rigorous entrance examination given to high school students in the Philippines. 2006–07 Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants Season
The 2006–07 Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants season was the 19th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The team was known as the Purefoods Chunkee Giants in the Philippine Cup. In the Philippine Cup, they finished fifth, and faced the Sta. Lucia Realtors in order to grab the 5th seed and prevent a wildcard round. In the semifinals, the Giants faced the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals. In Game 1, Marc Pingris top-scored with 19 points to draw first blood. However, Pingris himself suffered a broken nose as the Giants were routed, due to a collision with Jimmy Alapag of the Phone Pals. At the ending moments of the game, Paul Artadi and Alapag had an altercation, and both were ejected from the game; Alapag himself was suspended for Game 3 for punching Artadi in the face, with Roger Yap also suspended and received penalty. Pasay, officially the City of Pasay (; ), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, highly urbanized city in the Metro Manila, National Capital Region of the Philippines. Cuneta Astrodome
Cuneta Astrodome, also known as Pasay Astrodome or simply the Astrodome, is an indoor arena located in Pasay, Philippines. The arena has hosted Philippine Basketball Association games from 1993 to 1999 and again from 2001 onwards, and also currently serves as the home arena of the Pasay Voyagers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. It also became the home of the now-defunct Philippine Super Liga from 2014 to 2018. It has also hosted a slew of other political, evangelical gatherings and church anniversaries. Overtime (sports)
Overtime (OT) or extra time (ET) is an additional period of play to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament and replays are not allowed. ''PBA on ABC'' (later renamed as ''PBA on TV5'') is a Philippine television sports presentation show broadcast by ABC/TV5. It aired from February 22, 2004 to August 20, 2008, replacing '' Ispup'' and ''Friday Box Office'' and was replaced by '' Lokomoko'', '' Lipgloss'' and ''HushHush''. The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose arena, sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Quezon City#Cubao, Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 PBA season, 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Magnolia Hotshots for the third-most titles overall.
