2006 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship Qualification (NORCECA)
The NORCECA qualification for the 2006 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship saw member nations compete for six places at the finals in Japan. Draw 19 NORCECA national teams entered qualification. The teams were distributed according to their position in the FIVB Senior Women's Rankings as of 15 January 2004 using the serpentine system for their distribution. NORCECA
The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) is the international governing body for the sports of volleyball in Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. NORCECA is the continental confederation that represents its 35 member associations at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) level. It also has six associate members: Bonaire, Saba, Saint Martin, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. The confederation is responsible for, among other things, the staging of Olympic and World Championship zone qualification tournaments, as well as continental championships for both men and women in indoor volleyball and beach volleyball. Domo Polideportivo De La CDAG
The Domo Polideportivo de la CDAG, known commonly as ''Domo de la Zona 13'', or simply as ''Domo'' (dome, due to the type of its roof structure), is a multi-purpose arena in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Built to host the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship, it is located in the Zone 13 of the Guatemalan capital, in the location of the Guatemalan bullring, and has a capacity of 7,500 seats. The venue is owned and operated by the ''Confederación Deportiva Autónoma de Guatemala'' (CDAG), and is also used for musical presentations, as well as cultural and political activities, for which the CDAG leases the site. According to the CDAG, the Dome is a beautiful venue, but the high cost of its operation has affected its role as a sports venue, because most sports federations in the country cannot afford the cost of using it. 2006 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
The 2006 FIVB Women's World Championship was the fifteenth edition of the competition, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held from 31 October to 16 November 2006 in Japan. The finals involved 24 teams, of which 22 came through qualifying competitions, while the host nation and reign champion qualified automatically. Of the 32 teams, 16 had also appeared in the previous tournament in 2002, while Cameroon, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Serbia and Montenegro made their first appearances at a FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. Russia won their sixth world title, defeating Brazil in five sets at the final. Coliseo Héctor Solá Besares (English: ''Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum'') is an indoor sporting arena located in Caguas, Puerto Rico. It is used mostly for basketball and was the home arena of Caguas Creoles of the National Superior Basketball league. The capacity of the arena is 10,000 spectators.
