2006 CONCACAF Champions' Cup
The 2006 CONCACAF Champions' Cup was the 41st edition of the annual international club football competition held in the CONCACAF region (North America, Central America and the Caribbean), the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. The tournament is also a qualifying event for the FIFA Club World Cup 2006, 2006 FIFA Club World Cup. Thirty-three teams from eighteen football associations took part, starting with the first qualifying games on July 26, 2005. The tournament ended with a Two-legged match, two-legged final between Mexican teams Club América, América and Deportivo Toluca F.C., Toluca. The first leg was played at Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca, Mexico on April 12, 2006 and ended in a 0–0 draw. The second leg was played at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on April 19, 2006 and ended with Club América, América scoring in extra time for a 2–1 win, therefore the Mexican side achieved their fifth CONCACAF trophy. Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (LDA, ), commonly known as Alajuelense and nicknamed La Liga (), is a Costa Rican multisport club based in the borough of El Llano, Alajuela, Alajuela province. CFU Club Championship 2005
The 2005 Caribbean Football Union Club Championship was an international club football competition held in the Caribbean to determine the region's qualifier to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. The 2005 edition included 13 teams from 10 football associations, contested on a two-legged basis. Trinidad and Tobago champion North East Stars, which was only in its fourth year of existence, was given a bye to the quarterfinals. The club then withdrew before the quarterfinals due to a lack of financing. This allowed Surinamese champion Robinhood to eventually reach the final despite never playing a team from Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago.
