2006 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2006 Atlantic Sun men's basketball tournament was held March 2–4, 2006 at the ETSU/Mountain States Health Alliance Athletic Center, Memorial Center at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. 2005–06 Belmont Bruins men's basketball team, Belmont defeated top-seeded rival in the championship game, 74–69, to clinch their first Atlantic Sun men's basketball tournament. The Bruins, therefore, received the Atlantic Sun's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, 2006 NCAA tournament. This was Belmont's first appearance in the Division I tournament. ETSU/Mountain States Health Alliance Athletic Center
ETSU Athletics Center, previously known as the Memorial Center, and popularly referred to as the "Mini-Dome", is an 8,539-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. Until 2014, it hosted ETSU's men's and women's basketball teams. It also serves as the indoor venue for tennis and track. At one time, the facility also hosted ETSU's football team, but the school discontinued its football program at the end of the 2003 season as a cost-cutting measure. The football team was reinstated in 2015, but did not return to the facility; the Buccaneers played the 2015 and 2016 seasons at Kermit Tipton Stadium, a local high school facility, before opening the new William B. ASUN Men's Basketball Tournament
The ASUN Conference men's basketball tournament (formerly known as the Trans America Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament between 1979 and 2001) is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the ASUN Conference, formerly known as the Trans America Athletic Conference (TAAC) and Atlantic Sun Conference. The tournament has been held every year since 1979, except for 1992–93. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. North Florida Ospreys Men's Basketball
The North Florida Ospreys represent the University of North Florida (UNF) in men's college basketball. The Ospreys compete in the ASUN Conference (A-Sun) in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They play home games at UNF Arena on the school's campus in Jacksonville. The Troy Trojans men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball of Troy University. The program is classified in NCAA Division I and the team competes in the Sun Belt Conference.
