2005–06 Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Basketball Team
The 2005–06 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represented the University of Minnesota in the college basketball season of 2005–2006. The team's head coach, Dan Monson, was in his seventh season with the Gophers and the team played their home games at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota and are members of the Big Ten Conference. Season After making the NCAA tournament the previous year, the Gophers had mixed results throughout the season. The team was able to win only two games on the road, but defeated three top 20 teams at home in conference play. After losing to eventual conference tournament winner Iowa, the Gophers accepted an invitation to the NIT where they would give their home fans one final win before being defeated on the road by Cincinnati in the second round. Dan Monson
Daniel Lloyd Monson (born October 6, 1961) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at Eastern Washington. He was previously the head coach at Long Beach State for 17 seasons. He was also the head coach at Minnesota for over seven seasons, reaching postseason play five times. Before coaching the Gophers, he was the head coach at Gonzaga for two seasons, leading the team on an improbable run to the Elite Eight during his last season. Early years Monson is the son of college basketball coach Don Monson, and spent most of his early years in eastern Washington, where his father was a successful high school head coach in Cheney and Pasco for 18 seasons. The Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball team represents the University of Oklahoma in intercollegiate men's basketball. The program competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Vincent Grier
Vincent Grier (born March 14, 1983) is an American former basketball player and current assistant coach for the Truman Bulldogs. He played college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He has scored 1,118 points, but did not play during his junior season, due to an injury. He played for Minnesota after transferring from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. He led the Gophers in scoring for two consecutive seasons, including a trip to the NCAA Tournament that resulted in a first-round loss to Iowa State. Hopkins High School is a public high school located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, United States. Hopkins High School is part of the Hopkins School District 270. Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play.
