2005–06 Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team
The 2005–06 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 2005–06 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Wayne Morgan, who was in his 3rd season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa and competed in the Big 12 Conference. Previous season The Cyclones finished 19–12, 9–7 in Big 12 play to finish 5th the regular season conference standings. They lost to Texas Tech in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Minnesota and lost to North Carolina. Wayne Morgan (basketball)
Wayne Morgan (born October 7, 1950) was the Iowa State University men's basketball coach from 2003 to 2006. He was Iowa State University's first African-American head basketball coach. Career Morgan was a coach at Syracuse under Jim Boeheim until 1996. He coached at Long Beach State for six seasons before accepting the head coaching position at Iowa State. In three years at Iowa State, Morgan had a combined record of 55-39, marking his record fourth to Larry Eustachy (72-26, two NCAA tournament appearances, one Elite eight appearance), Tim Floyd (69-29, twice second round of NCAA tourney), and Fred Hoiberg (62-39, two round of 32 NCAA tournament appearances) in the history of Iowa State University basketball coaches finishing their third year. Winterset is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Iowa. The population was 5,353 at the time of the 2020 census. Winterset is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area. History Winterset was platted during a cool spell in the summer of 1849. The name was originally to be "Summerset", but the unseasonable coldness made the commissioners reverse this to "Winterset". Webster City Community School District
The Webster City Community School District is a public school district headquartered in Webster City, Iowa. In 2012, the Webster City School District enrolled approximately 1600 students, with an estimated 700 receiving free or reduced lunch, 200 students on IEP's, 100 ELL students and a total staff of 248. The district is mostly in Hamilton County, and also includes portions of Webster and Wright counties. In addition to Webster City, it serves Blairsburg, Duncombe, Kamrar, and Williams.
