The 2005 Mid-Continent Conference men's basketball tournament took place between Saturday, March 5, 2006 and Tuesday, March 8, 2006 at the John Q. Hammons Arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bracket Championship game On March 8, Oakland clinched their first-ever bid to the NCAA tournament – it was their eighth year in Division I – by dispatching league favorite Oral Roberts in their conference tournament final. The final score was 61–60. Pierre Dukes was the hero, hitting a 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds left. It was his only shot of the second half. Afterwards, Ken Tutt's desperation shot at the buzzer banked high off the rim and Oakland celebrated. After the game, Dukes said, "When I got it, I looked at the clock and there wasn't enough time to get it back to him, so I figured I'd let it fly." Greg Charles Kampe (; born December 9, 1955) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at Oakland University. He guided the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, Golden Grizzlies to their first NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA Division I tournament in 2005 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2005, winning in the First Four round. Kampe, a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, is one of nine Division I basketball coaches who have been at the same school for at least 25 seasons. The Summit League men's basketball tournament, popularly known as The Summit League at the Falls, is the post-season tournament for NCAA Division I conference Summit League. The winner of the tournament receives the Summit League's automatic bid into the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. The tournament was first played in 1984, when the league was known as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (AMCU). Rawle Junior Kalomo Marshall (born February 20, 1982) is a Guyanese-American professional basketball player who last played for Shahrdari Gorgan of the Iranian Super League. Early life Marshall is a 2000 graduate of Detroit's Mackenzie High School, where he was salutatorian of his senior class. Marshall's favorite basketball player as a youth was Penny Hardaway.
