Gastón Gaudio defeated Guillermo Coria in the final, 0–6, 3–6, 6–4, 6–1, 8–6 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2004 French Open. It was his first and only Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major title, and he was the first Argentine to win a men's singles major since Guillermo Vilas at the 1979 Australian Open – Men's singles, 1979 Australian Open. Gastón Gaudio
Gastón Norberto Gaudio (; born 9 December 1978) is an Argentine former professional tennis player. He won eight singles titles and achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 5 in April 2005. Gaudio's most significant championship came at the 2004 French Open, when he defeated fellow Argentine Guillermo Coria from two sets down in the final. Early life Gaudio learned the game at the Temperley Lawn Tennis Club, and his first coach was Roberto Carruthers. He was the youngest of 3 children in his family. Jannik Sinner defeated Taylor Fritz in the final, 6–3, 6–4, 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2024 US Open. It was his second major title. Rafael Nadal defeated Tomáš Berdych in the final, 6–3, 7–5, 6–4 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships. It was his second Wimbledon title and eighth major title overall. It was also Nadal's fourth non-consecutive Wimbledon final (he skipped the 2009 tournament because of injuries). Nicolas Mahut
Nicolas Pierre Armand Mahut (; born 21 January 1982) is a French professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Grand Slam champion in doubles, having completed the career Grand Slam with victories at the 2015 US Open, 2016 Wimbledon Championships, 2018 French Open, and 2019 Australian Open, all partnering Pierre-Hugues Herbert. However, among the Grand Slam (tennis), four majors, the US Open (tennis), US Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon Championships, Wimbledon (since 2019) use the tiebreak in the final set, while the French Open, through 2021, was the only major to use the advantage set rules in the final set, which allows for an indefinite number of games until one player is ahead by two. Stefan Edberg
Jan Stefan Edberg (; born 19 January 1966) is a Swedish former professional tennis player. He was ranked as the world No. 1 in both men's singles and men's doubles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), one of two players in the Open Era to hold both positions (alongside John McEnroe). Edberg won 41 career singles titles and 18 doubles titles, including nine majors: six in singles and three in men's doubles.
