2004 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 2004 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 116th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the 2004 fixtures took place on 14 December 2003. The championship began on 2 May 2004 and ended on 31 October 2004. Newtownshandrum were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Cloyne in the semi-final stage. On 31 October 2004, Na Piarsaigh won the championship following a 0–17 to 0–10 defeat of Cloyne in the final. This was their third championship title overall and their first in nine championship seasons. Munster Technological University Cork GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Munster Technological University in Bishopstown, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in a range of competitions in both hurling and Gaelic football. Páirc Uí Rinn (), also known as Páirc Chríostóir Uí Rinn, is a Gaelic Athletic Association stadium located between Ballinlough and Ballintemple in Cork. It was previously known as Flower Lodge and was used as an association football stadium. During the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Flower Lodge served as the home ground of three League of Ireland clubs – Cork Hibernians, Albert Rovers and Cork City. It also hosted friendly matches featuring Manchester United, Liverpool and the Republic of Ireland national football team. Douglas Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Douglas, Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to the Seandún Board and fields teams in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. History Located in the suburb of Douglas on the southside of Cork, Douglas Hurling Club was founded in 1887 and took part in the first ever Cork SHC that year. The club went onto a period of decline and in 1918 a new club called Castletreasure represented the area. Following the breakup of the Castletreasure Club in 1926, there was no club in the parish until the St Columba's club was formed. Killeagh GAA club is a hurling and Gaelic football club located in the small village of Killeagh in east County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the East Cork division of Imokilly and the Cork county board. It is the sister club of Glenbower Rovers GAA and St.Ita's GAA. History Hurling and Gaelic football was played in the parish of Killeagh before the foundation of the GAA in 1884. Glanmire () is a suburban town within the administrative area of Cork city, in the civil parish of Rathcooney, County Cork, Ireland. Sarsfields GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland. The club, a sister club of Glanmire, is solely concerned with the game of hurling. History Sarsfields GAA Club was established by a group of men, led by Billy O'Neill, in 1894. Named in honour of the Irish Jacobite and soldier Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan, the club was first formally registered in 1896. Sarsfields claimed their first county honours in 1937, when the Cork JHC was secured, however, there were also Cork SHC final defeats in 1909, 1936, 1940 and 1947.
