2003–04 Murray State Racers Men's Basketball Team
The 2003–04 Murray State Racers men's basketball team represented Murray State University during the 2003–04 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Racers, led by first-year head coach Mick Cronin, played their home games at Racer Arena in Murray, Kentucky, as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 28–6, 14–2 in OVC play to win the OVC regular season title. They defeated to win the OVC tournament to advance to the NCAA tournament. As No. 12 seed in the South region, the Racers were beaten by No. 5 seed Illinois, 72–53. Mick Cronin (basketball)
Michael Walter Cronin (born July 17, 1971) Cincinnati Enquirer. 2 May 1999. is an American men's college basketball coach who is the head coach at UCLA Bruins men's basketball, UCLA. He was named the Pac-12 Conference Men's Basketball Coach of the Year, Pac-12 Coach of the Year in his first season with the Bruins in the 2019–2020 season. The following year, his team went to the 2021 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, Final Four. Cronin arrived at UCLA having previously served as the head coach at the Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball, University of Cincinnati for 13 seasons. Ohio Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Ohio Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an annual award given to the Ohio Valley Conference's (OVC) most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1962–63 season. Fifteen players in OVC history have claimed more than one player of the year award, the most recent of whom was Terry Taylor in 2020 and 2021. Among the repeat winners, only one— Clem Haskins of Western Kentucky—has been a three-time player of the year. Haskins achieved the feat from 1965 through 1967. Both of the schools with the most awards left the OVC in 2022. Murray State, which has dominated the award's selection, with its players having received the award 21 times (which at the Racers' departure was equal to the total of the next three programs on the list), joined the Missouri Valley Conference. Cuthbert Victor
Cuthbert Victor (born January 30, 1983) is a U.S. Virgin Islander professional basketball player who last played for the Incheon ET Land Elephants of the Korean Basketball League. Nicknamed the "Greek God" by Virgin Island fans, he is a long-time member of the U.S. Virgin Islands national basketball team. College career Victor played college basketball at Murray State University. In his four years there, he established himself as a dominant force for the Racers. Despite flying under the radar, he has been called one of the best players in Murray State Racer history, and was once named CollegehoopsNet Unsung Player of the week. The Murray State Racers are the athletic teams that represent Murray State University (MSU), located in Murray, Kentucky, United States, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the NCAA Division I ranks (for football, the Football Championship Subdivision), primarily competing in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) since the 2022–23 academic year.
