2003–04 Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball Team
The 2003–04 Dayton Flyers men's basketball team represented the University of Dayton during the 2003–04 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Flyers, led by first year head coach Brian Gregory, played their home games at the University of Dayton Arena and were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 24–9, 12–4 in A-10 play, finishing first in the A-10's West division. Dayton opened the season winning the Maui Invitational. The Flyers advanced to the finals of the Atlantic 10 tournament where they were defeated by rival Xavier. Dayton received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, the program's first consecutive NCAA appearances since the 1960s. The Flyers lost to DePaul in the first round. Brian Gregory
Brian Francis Gregory (born December 15, 1966) is an American basketball executive and former coach and player who is the general manager of the Phoenix Suns. He was vice president of player programming for the Phoenix Suns, and a former college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at South Florida. He was previously serving as a consultant to Tom Izzo at Michigan State after being let go as head coach with Georgia Tech. Prior to coaching at Georgia Tech, he was the head coach at Dayton and an assistant coach under Izzo at Michigan State. Early life and education From 1985 to 1986, Gregory attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he played on the Navy team that featured David Robinson and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. Norwich Free Academy
The Norwich Free Academy (NFA), founded in 1854 and in operation since 1856, is a coeducational independent school for students between the 9th and 12th grade. Located in Norwich, Connecticut, the Academy serves as the primary high school for Norwich and the surrounding towns of Canterbury, Bozrah, Voluntown, Sprague, Lisbon, Franklin, Preston, and Brooklyn. Taftville is a small village in eastern Connecticut, United States. It is a neighborhood of Norwich but has its own post office ( ZIP Code 06380). It was established in 1866 as site for the large Taftville Mill, later Ponemah Mill. The village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Taftville and as alternative name Taftville/Ponemah Mill National Register Historic District. Garinger High School (sometimes referred to simply as Garinger or The G) is a high school located in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. History Garinger was in essence the relocation of Central High School, making it one of the oldest remaining schools in Charlotte. The school's origins date back to 1908–09, when the class of 1909 received their diplomas in the first graduation of Charlotte High School. Centerville High School is a public school of secondary education for grades 9–12 located in Centerville, Ohio, USA, situated south of Dayton. It is the only high school in the Centerville City School District, which also includes three middle schools, six elementary schools and two K–1 schools, or "primary villages". Centerville is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. A core suburb of Metro Dayton, its population was 24,240 as of the 2020 census. History Following the signing of the Treaty of Greenville, which opened the Northwest Territory to settlement, Centerville was first surveyed in February 1796 by Aaron Nutt, Benjamin Archer, and Benjamin Robbins, three brothers-in-law who traveled from New Jersey through Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Reynoldsburg High School (RHS) is a public high school located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, United States, and the only high school in the Reynoldsburg City School District. The school is divided into five academies housed at two separate campuses, each of which has its own academy leaders and administrative team.
