Gérald Merceron
Gérald Merceron (born 25 February 1973) is a French former rugby union player He played at Fly-half (rugby union), fly-half. Unusually he favoured a cone when kicking at goal; the only other player in the modern game to do the same is Chris Ellis (rugby union), Chris Ellis. He played for RC Toulon, ASM Clermont Auvergne and Stade Rochelais, La Rochelle, where he retired at the end of the 2007/08 season. He had 32 caps for France national rugby union team, France, from 1999 to 2003. He made his test debut on 3 June 1999 as a replacement against Romania national rugby union team, Romania, in a game won by 65–8, aged 26 years old. Merceron amassed an impressive 267 test points during his 32 appearances for the French side during 4 years, slotting 57 penalties, 36 conversions and 3 drop goals as well as scoring 3 tries. Lansdowne Road
Lansdowne Road Stadium (, ) was a stadium in Dublin owned by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) that was primarily used for rugby union and association football matches. The stadium was demolished in 2007 to make way for the Aviva Stadium on the same site, which opened in 2010. The stadium took its name from the adjacent street, Lansdowne Road. Location The stadium was situated in the neighbourhood of Ballsbridge in the city's Dublin 4 area. The stadium had convenient public transport links as the Lansdowne Road station of the Dublin Area Rapid Transit rail system is adjacent to the site and passed directly underneath the West Stand. Budge Pountney
Anthony Charles 'Budge' Pountney (born 13 November 1973) is a rugby union coach and retired player. A flanker, he played in the Northampton Saints side that won the 1999–2000 Heineken Cup. Pountney was born in Southampton in England, but had a grandmother from the Channel Islands which made him eligible for any of the British national teams. He won 31 caps for Scotland from 1998 to 2002. He was part of the Scotland team that won the 1999 Five Nations Championship, played in the 1999 World Cup, and later captained the team. After retiring, he was head coach and later director of rugby at Northampton. He later worked in club and school coaching. He is now the development director for Ulster Rugby. Ian McGeechan
Sir Ian Robert McGeechan, OBE (born 30 October 1946) is a Scottish rugby union player, coach and teacher. Born in Leeds, McGeechan represented Headingley as his only club during a 15-year club career, qualifying for Scotland through his father he played 32 times internationally for Scotland over 7 years and won 8 caps on two tours for the British & Irish Lions. During his playing career he worked as a teacher. Upon retiring from playing McGeechan began coaching, in a career spanning 26 years he coached the most recent Scottish side to win a Grand Slam in the 1990 Five Nations Championship, and won Premiership Rugby & the European Cup with London Wasps in 2008 and 2007. Alessandro Moscardi
Alessandro Moscardi (born 26 March 1969) is an Italian former rugby union player who played as a hooker. Moscardi was born in Rovigo, Veneto. He played for Rugby Rovigo Delta, from 1988/89 to 1995/96, where he won the Italian Championship, in 1989/90. He moved to Benetton Rugby Treviso, where he played from 1996/97 to 2002/03. He won five Italian Championship titles, in 1996/97, 1997/98, 1998/99, 2001/01 and 2002/03, and the Cup of Italy, in 1997/98. He spent his final season, as an amateur, at Conigliano, in 2003/04, finishing his player career afterwards. He had 44 caps for Italy, from 1993 to 2002, including 17 as captain, scoring 6 tries, 30 points on aggregate. Brad Johnstone
Bradley Ronald Johnstone (born 30 July 1950) is a New Zealand rugby union administrator and former player who is currently the president of the North Shore Rugby Football Club. He played as a prop He first played for Auckland, in 1971, and went on to play 122 matches for them including captaining them between 1977 and 1981. Johnstone had 13 caps for New Zealand, from 1976 to 1979, scoring 2 tries, 8 points in aggregate. Stadio Flaminio
The Stadio Flaminio is a stadium in Rome. It lies along the Via Flaminia, three kilometres northwest of the city centre, 300 metres away from the Parco di Villa Glori. The interior spaces include a covered swimming pool, rooms for fencing, amateur wrestling, weightlifting, boxing and gymnastics. Keith Wood
Keith Wood (born 27 January 1972) is an Irish former rugby union player who played as a hooker at international level for Ireland, and the British & Irish Lions. He also played at club level for Garryowen, Harlequins and Munster. He was nicknamed 'The Raging Potato' because of his bald head, and as ' Uncle Fester' due to his resemblance to the character in '' The Addams Family''. Wood is considered by many to have been the best hooker in rugby union during his era, winning the inaugural World Rugby Player of the Year award, and to be among the best hookers in the history of the game. David Humphreys (rugby Union)
David Humphreys MBE (born 10 September 1971) is an Irish former rugby union player. He played 72 times for Ireland, scoring 560 points, including 6 tries, and at the time of his international retirement was Ireland's most capped out-half. He played his club rugby for London Irish and Ulster, winning the 1998-99 Heineken Cup, the 2004 Celtic Cup and the 2005–06 Celtic League with the latter. Since retiring as a player he has served as director of rugby for Ulster and Gloucester, as a performance consultant with the Georgian Rugby Union, and Director of Performance Operations with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
