2001–02 St. John's Red Storm Men's Basketball Team
The 2001–02 St. John's Red Storm men's basketball team represented St. John's University during the 2001–02 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Mike Jarvis in his fourth year. St. John's home games are played at Carnesecca Arena, then called Alumni Hall, and Madison Square Garden and the team is a member of the Big East Conference. Mike Jarvis
Michael D. Jarvis (born April 12, 1945) is an American college basketball coach most recently as head men's basketball coach at Florida Atlantic University. He has coached at Boston University, George Washington University and St. John's University. He also has worked as a commentator for college basketball games on ESPN. His career college coaching record in over 18 seasons is 364–201. Early life Jarvis was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and played high school basketball at Rindge Technical High School, the predecessor to Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He also coached at Rindge and Latin, where his players included NBA players Patrick Ewing, Rumeal Robinson and former George Washington head coach Karl Hobbs. He played basketball and baseball at Northeastern University, graduating in 1968. Marcus Hatten
Marcus Isaiah Hatten (born December 13, 1980) is a retired American professional basketball player. Standing at 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m), he played as point guard and had an extensive professional career in several European and South-American countries. He was the 2006 Israeli Basketball Premier League Statistical Leaders, top scorer in the Israel Basketball Premier League Early career Hatten attended Mergenthaler Vocational Technical Senior High School. From there he went to Tallahassee Community College where he averaged about 20 points per game between his freshman and sophomore seasons.
