2001 Women's Champions Trophy (field Hockey)
The 2001 Women's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 9th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for women. It was held between 18–26 August 2001 in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Argentina won the tournament for the first time after defeating the Netherlands 3–2 in the final. Amstelveen
Amstelveen () is a List of municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of North Holland, Netherlands with a population of 92.353 as of 2022. David Bell (field Hockey)
David Ian Bell, OAM (born 11 March 1955 in Melbourne) is a retired field hockey player from Australia, who was part of the team that won the silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He attended Aquinas College, Perth. Bell was first selected for Western Australia in 1974 and was a member of the Australia that won a silver medal at 1976 Montreal Olympics. The Australian hockey team boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics. The Australian team finished fourth at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He captained the Australian team that won the 1986 Hockey World Cup. María Cecilia Rognoni (born December 1, 1976 in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine field hockey player, who won the 2002 World Cup in Perth, Australia where she was elected as the best woman hockey player in the world by the FIH. She is currently playing in the Dutch team HC Bloemendaal in the second division of the Netherlands. Cecilia belongs to the generation that gave rise to the myth of the Las Leonas.
