2000–01 UC Irvine Anteaters Men's Basketball Team
The 2000–01 UC Irvine Anteaters men's basketball team represented the University of California, Irvine during the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Anteaters were led by fourth year head coach Pat Douglass and played their home games at the Bren Events Center. They were members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season with a school record 25–5 and 15–1 in Big West play to win the Big West regular season championship. They advanced to the Big West Conference tournament where they lost to the Pacific Tigers. The Anteaters earned a bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Pat Douglass
Joseph Patrick Douglass (born January 23, 1950) is a retired American basketball coach. He was most recently the men's head coach at UC Irvine Anteaters men's basketball, UC Irvine from 1997 to 2010. Early life and education Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Douglass moved to Barstow, California as a teenager and graduated from Barstow High School, Kennedy High School. He graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in biology and teaching credential in physical education. Coaching career Douglass climbed the coaching ladder, first at the high school level as head coach at Dixon High School from 1973 to 1975, then Manteca High School from 1975 to 1979. He stepped up to the junior college ranks, guiding Columbia Junior College from 1979 to 1981. The 2000–01 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho during the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Members of the Big West Conference, the Vandals were led by fourth-year head coach David Farrar and played their home games on campus at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. The Vandals were overall and in conference play, in a three-way tie for seventh (last). They lost the tiebreaker for the final berth in the conference tournament to Cal Poly. Idaho had qualified for the tourney in the previous three seasons, but was the sole team not to participate this year. Alexander Giannascoli (born February 3, 1993), better known by his stage names Alex G or, formerly, (Sandy) Alex G, is an American musician, producer, and singer-songwriter. Moraga is a town in Contra Costa County, California, United States. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the town is named in honor of Joaquín Moraga, member of the famed Californio family. McKeon Pavilion
University Credit Union Pavilion (formerly McKeon Pavilion) is a 3,500-seat multi-purpose arena at Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, California. Home men's and women's basketball and volleyball games are held in the gymnasium, the team nickname being the Gaels. Many athletic camps for youths also use the gym, primarily in the summer, and other on-campus events, such as the Baccalaureate mass, are also held there. Banners commemorating successful seasons, championships and post-season appearances for all Saint Mary's sports hang on the back wall. At well-attended games, the court-level bleachers opposite the benches are reserved entirely for students. Common criticism of the gym, including by students, is its age and size. The 2000–01 Washington Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Washington for the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
