2000–01 Toronto Raptors Season
The 2000–01 NBA season was the sixth season for the Toronto Raptors in the National Basketball Association. Lenny Wilkens
Leonard Randolph Wilkens (born October 28, 1937) is an American former professional basketball player and coach in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has been inducted three times into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, first in 1989 as a player, as a coach in 1998, and in 2010 as part of the 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball team, 1992 United States Olympic "Dream Team" for which he was an assistant coach. In 1996, Wilkens was named to the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, NBA 50th Anniversary Team, and in 2021 he was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. In addition, in 2022 he was also named to the list of the 15 Greatest Coaches in NBA History, being the only person to be in both NBA 75th season celebration lists, as a player and as a coach. DeCovan Kadell "Dee" Brown (born November 29, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who spent thirty years in the NBA including twelve seasons as a player (1990–2002) in the National Basketball Association (NBA), playing for the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Orlando Magic, and as an executive with the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, and as Vice President of Holistic Player Performance with the Los Angeles Clippers. Kevin Willis
Kevin Alvin Willis (born September 6, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player mostly known for playing with the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a 7-foot power forward/ center. Excluding players not yet eligible, he holds the record for most games played among those not in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Willis is one of fifteen players in NBA history with over 16,000 career points and 11,000 career rebounds. Chris Childs (basketball)
Chris Childs (born November 20, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player, who played primarily at the guard position. Early basketball career Childs played his high school basketball at Foothill High School and starred at Boise State University in the late 1980s. Childs was the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year in 1989. Despite his collegiate success, Childs went undrafted in the 1989 NBA draft and began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association. He played for three different teams in his first three seasons in the league, but eventually found a home with the Quad City Thunder. With the Thunder, Childs won a league title and the CBA Playoff Finals/MVP award in 1994 after averaging 17.9 points and 7.6 assists. Muggsy Bogues
Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues (born January 9, 1965) is an American former basketball player. The shortest player ever to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Bogues played point guard for four teams during his 14-season career in the NBA. Although best known for his ten seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, he also played for the Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors. Bogues finished in the top seven in assists in six consecutive seasons (1989–1995), and in the top ten in steals in three of those seasons. He had 146 career NBA double-doubles. After his NBA career, he served as head coach of the now-defunct Charlotte Sting of the WNBA. Bogues also had a surprising defensive ability. Eric Scott Montross (September 23, 1971 – December 17, 2023) was an American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for eight seasons with the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, and Toronto Raptors. Born in Indianapolis, he played for Lawrence North High School before enrolling at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to play for the Tar Heels. The 2000–01 NBA season was the 53rd season for the Detroit Pistons in the National Basketball Association, their 60th season as a franchise, and their 44th season in Detroit, Michigan. Mark A. Jackson (born April 1, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player who was a point guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the St. John's Red Storm men's basketball, St. John's Red Storm and was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 1987 NBA draft with the 18th overall pick. 1999–2000 Sacramento Kings Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the 51st season for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association, and their 15th season in Sacramento, California. During the off-season, the team acquired Nick Anderson from the Orlando Magic, and signed free agents Tony Delk, Darrick Martin, and re-signed Tyrone Corbin. For the season opener, the Kings traveled overseas to Tokyo, Japan to play their first two games against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Coming off of a winning record in a lockout-shortened season was much expected of the Kings, who got off to a fast start by winning nine of their first ten games of the regular season, which included an 8-game winning streak, and later on held a 30–18 record at the All-Star break.
