The 2000 Volleyball America's Cup was the third edition of the annual men's volleyball tournament, played by six countries from North-, Central- and South America. The tournament was held from August 11 to August 20, 2000, in São Bernardo, Brazil. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Ángel Dennis
Ángel Dennis (born 13 June 1977) is a Cuban-born Italian volleyball player. Dennis played with the Cuba men's national volleyball team, Cuban men's national volleyball team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he finished in seventh place. He was widely regarded as the most talented player on the Cuban men's team. He helped the Cuban team win the bronze medal at the 1998 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, 1998 FIVB World Championship in Japan. Erik Sullivan
Erik Thomas Sullivan (born August 9, 1972) is an American former volleyball player and two-time Olympian. He played for the United States men's national volleyball team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. College At UCLA, Sullivan helped his team win two national titles, in 1993 and 1995, and was an All-American in 1992. In 1995, as a senior, he captained the team to a 31–1 record. Lloy James Ball (born February 17, 1972) is an American former volleyball player, who was a member of American national team from 1993 to 2008. Ball is a four-time Olympian, and a gold medalist of Beijing 2008. He is also a gold medalist of the 2007 NORCECA Championship and 2008 World League, silver medalist of the 1995 Pan American Games, bronze medalist of the 1994 FIVB World Championship, and 2015 inductee to the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.
