Yukon Legislative Assembly
The Yukon Legislative Assembly (french: Assemblée législative du Yukon) is the legislative assembly for Yukon, Canada. Unique among Canada's Provinces and territories of Canada, three territories, the Yukon Legislative Assembly is the only territorial legislature which is organized along political party lines. Piers McDonald, OC (born August 4, 1955) is a Yukon politician and businessman. Born in Kingston, Ontario, McDonald, originally a miner by profession, is a long-time MLA, Cabinet minister, and the fifth premier of Yukon. He was leader of the Yukon New Democratic Party from 1995 to 2000. Post-politics, McDonald became a businessman and community developer. Lake Laberge (electoral District)
Lake Laberge is an electoral district which returns a member (known as an MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of the Yukon Territory in Canada. It is one of the Yukon's eight rural districts and is named after the eponymous Lake Laberge, which is within the riding. Lake Laberge encompasses the Whitehorse subdivisions of MacPherson, and Hidden Valley, as well as the residents of the Takhini Hot Springs Road, Pilot Mountain, the Hamlet of Ibex Valley, and the North Klondike Highway and Lake Laberge as far as Braeburn Lodge. Kluane is an electoral district which returns a member (known as an MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of the Canadian territory of Yukon. It is named after Kluane National Park, which is within the riding. It is one of the Yukon's eight rural districts. Kluane represents all Yukon communities and residents along the Alaska Highway west of Whitehorse and south to Alaska. This includes the communities of Haines Junction, Burwash Landing, Destruction Bay, Beaver Creek, and Mendenhall, as well as parts of the Ibex and Macpherson-Grizzly valleys. Klondike is an electoral district which returns a member (known as an MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Yukon in Canada. One of Yukon's eight rural ridings, it is also the oldest riding in Yukon, first established in 1905. The riding includes Dawson City and its environs, as well as Eagle Plains. Trevor Harding (politician)
Trevor Harding is a Canadian politician, who represented the electoral district of Faro in the Yukon Legislative Assembly from 1992 to 2001. A member of the Yukon New Democratic Party, he served as the party's interim leader in 2000 following the resignation of Piers McDonald.
