1999–2000 Stanford Cardinal Men's Basketball Team
The 1999–2000 Stanford Cardinal men's basketball team represented Stanford University as a member of the Pac-10 Conference during the 1999–2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Mike Montgomery and played their home games at Maples Pavilion. Stanford spent a total of five weeks as the top-ranked team in the AP poll, finished tied atop the Pac-10 regular season standings, and received an at-large bid to the 2000 NCAA tournament as No. 1 seed in the South Region. Mike Montgomery (basketball)
Michael John Montgomery (born February 27, 1947) is a retired American basketball coach. He is best known for his 18-year tenure at Stanford Cardinal men's basketball, Stanford (1986–2004), where he led the program to 12 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four appearance in 1998 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1998. Montgomery previously served as head coach at the Montana Grizzlies basketball, Montana (1978–1986). Following his time at Stanford, he coached the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for two seasons (2004–2006) before ending his career at the California Golden Bears men's basketball, University of California (2008–2014). He announced his retirement from coaching following the 2013–14 season. The 1999–2000 Auburn Tigers men's basketball team represented Auburn University in the 1999–2000 college basketball season. The team's head coach was Cliff Ellis, who was in his sixth season at Auburn. The team played their home games at Beard–Eaves–Memorial Coliseum in Auburn, Alabama.
