1999–2000 Perth Glory SC Season
The 1999–2000 Perth Glory SC season was the club's fourth in the Australian National Soccer League (NSL). The club won the NSL minor premiership as the leading team in the league. In the Grand Final, the Glory missed out on the NSL championship when they lost in a penalty shoot-out after surrendering a 3–0 half-time lead. Perth Glory FC
Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues. Founded in 1995, Perth Glory is one of three A-League clubs to survive from the now-defunct National Soccer League (NSL), playing their debut match in this competition in October 1996 for the 1996–97 season. Hamilton Thorp
Hamilton Thorp (born 21 August 1973) is an Australian former professional football player. Early life Thorp is one of a small number of professional footballers to grow up in Darwin. Career Club In the early 1990s Thorp moved to England, where he spent a season with Rochdale. Thorp played in the FAS Premier League as a teenager for Darwin Cubs. In 1997, Thorp signed for English Football League First Division side Portsmouth on the recommendation of then-Australia manager Terry Venables. He played seven league matches and two Football League Cup games for the side, scoring one goal. He later returned to Australia, moving from Perth Glory to Parramatta Power in 2000. In 2003, Thorp played for Swedish side Norrköping, but was released after one season when the club elected not to take up a contractual option for a second year. Parramatta Power SC
Parramatta Power Soccer Club were a professional association football club who were based in the Western Sydney city of Parramatta. They played in the National Soccer League from season 1999-00 until the league folded in 2004. The Power were runners up to Perth Glory in the 2003–04 season of the NSL, both on the ladder and in the grand final, after Perth took control in extra time and scored the golden goal winner in horrendous weather to become the final NSL champions. The club was backed by the Parramatta Leagues club which also owns the Parramatta Eels rugby league team. Brisbane Strikers Football Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in Brisbane, Queensland. Canberra Cosmos Football Club was an Australian soccer club based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. It participated in the National Soccer League from the 1995/96 season until the end of the 2000/01 season, after which it folded, primarily due to financial difficulties. The club was known historically as Juventus — the original name given to the club by its founders in Adelaide's Italian community. Slobodan "Bobby" Despotovski (born 14 July 1971) is an Australian soccer player who played 12 seasons in the top tier of Australian soccer. Her maternal parents, Martin and Margareta Saharov were from Sevastopol, Crimea, USSR. Valentina was born in Kačarevo, Pančevo and married Cvetko in Vojvodina. Only nine months after his birth his family moved to Yugoslavia because his mother was homesick. Ivan Ergić ( sr-Cyrl, Иван Ергић, ; born 21 January 1981) is a retired Serbian footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in modern-day Croatia and raised in Australia, he began his career at Perth Glory and was briefly with Juventus before moving to Switzerland's FC Basel in 2001, where he played 202 league matches. He left in 2009 for Bursaspor, where he spent two seasons, winning the Turkish Süper Lig in the first. Ergić was a member of the Serbia and Montenegro squad at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and earned 11 international caps between 2006 and 2008. Marconi Stallions Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Fairfield, Sydney, New South Wales. The club has been crowned Australian champion four times. The Stallions are the soccer team of Club Marconi, a social and sporting club founded in 1958 by immigrants from Italy who settled in Sydney's western suburbs. Falcons 2000 Soccer Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in the regional Victorian city of Morwell.
