1999–2000 Fresno State Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 1999–2000 Fresno State Bulldogs men's basketball team represented California State University, Fresno during the 1999–2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Jerry Tarkanian's fifth season at Fresno State. The Bulldogs played their home games at Selland Arena and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 24–10, 11–3 in WAC play to finish in second place. They defeated No. 14 Tulsa to win the WAC tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs lost in the first round to eventual Final Four participant Wisconsin. Jerry Tarkanian
Jerry Tarkanian (August 8, 1930 – February 11, 2015) was an American basketball coach. He coached college basketball for 31 seasons over five decades at three schools. He spent the majority of his career coaching with the UNLV Runnin' Rebels, leading them four times to the Final Four of the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, winning the national championship in 1990. Tarkanian revolutionized the college game at UNLV, utilizing a pressing defense to fuel its fast-paced offense. Overall, he won over 700 games in his college coaching career, only twice failing to win 20 games, while never having a losing season. Tarkanian was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. Alexander Giannascoli (born February 3, 1993), better known by his stage names Alex G or, formerly, (Sandy) Alex G, is an American musician, producer, and singer-songwriter. He started his career playing in multiple local bands such as the Skin Cells before he decided to pursue his own music career as a soloist. The 1999–2000 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks men's basketball team represented Northern Arizona University in the 1999-2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lumberjacks were led by head coach Mike Adras, and played their home games at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Arizona as members of the Big Sky Conference. After finishing third during the conference regular season, the Lumberjacks won the Big Sky tournament to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The 1999–2000 Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team represented Pepperdine University in the 1999–2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
